Jarry. Bob isnt even an NHL goalie at this point. Wouldnt even want him at 2.5mil as backup. 1st rounders are useless until at least a couple more years when this core is completely out of their window. Right now we are only 1 foot out.

He was good last year.

I dunno. I just feel like I’d rather get a player for two years or so versus giving Jarry a long term deal.

Maybe the answer is someone else though.

Pens need a couple tweeks here. No to Boeser and Rust has NMC and took less to be here Rust is here for three year with NMC and making more upfront salary, Same with Malkin and Letang, Now Hextall maybe can move Dumo but unless he can get a physical LD, not sure he can do that. Maybe Kap play well enough to move but why would you if he is doing well.

Lets say the cap is fully escrowed and is at 87.5 next year. Pens have 24 million with only Jarry at say 6AAV to sign. Next you have Teddy B and then Poehling as well. Pens have cap space to add if the right player is there. Zucker is gone unless he takes a offer at 3 AAV for 3 and I an just guessing there. You have Poulin, DOC, Smith on D who look to be here and also Hallander. I play the WB guys and move McGinn unless he can move up to LW2.

Jake Sid RR
? Geno Rust
Poehling Teddy B kap
DOC Poulin Carter
Hallander

POJ Letang
Petts Petry
Smith Rutta
Ruhwedel Friedman

Pens already need to score 6 per game to win... Does it really matter who is the tendy, anymore? Lol

But yeah anyway

I would have supported locking jarry up over the summer. The longer it goes, either he can't save the team himself and he isn't worth signing anyway, or he turns it up again and prices himself too high.

Lets not talk about Boeser, would be a big mistake. He is as streaky as they come. He would get crucified

I didn’t even realize how good Jarrys .915 save percentage is. Back in the day that number was fairly pedestrian, but you start looking at active goalies with at least 200 gp, and he’s right up there in the top-10. (He’s only at 175gp but that’s close enough imo)

Saros and Vasi are the top guys and they’re only sporting .919 save percentages. Shit. We might have to pay this guy.

Depends how he performs in the playoffs. IMO, I don't really care how these guys perform in the regular season. As long as they're not truly awful, chances are we're good enough to slip into the playoffs. It's how they perform in the playoffs that I'll judge.

And so far Jarry's not someone I'm hurrying to re-sign based on his playoff career.

I never wanna see this line broken up again this season. Let the other 3 lines go into the blender when necessary.
Look what happens when you remove Rak. They become pedestrian.

As things stand Sid has 7 more ES points than McDavid. He has as many as Robertson, the guy who's tearing the league apart. Not bad at age 35.

Brock Bosseur is apparently an E4. Where does he fit in the lineup and do we have enough room on team for two brockstars?

I’ll take Boeser if Van wants to retain 50% and send a pick over. In other words, he doesn’t fit

My brain kinda just died looking at that picture of letters and numbers. I am really not a stats guy, don't care what they say or mean.

Bottom line is GCRak have outscored the opposition 21-6 going back to last year, and it's no fluke.
Remove Rakell and they are 46-44 with a different right wing over these 2 seasons.

He is critical to getting the most out of Sid in his old age. And I hope that translates to PP1 as well soon.

All we need now is an LW for Geno next season. Perhaps trade Carter? and Blueger can be the 3C and Poe can be the 4C. I dunno who will fill the Geno LW spot though...any suggstions for the offseason? maybe a team needs to trade an LW for cap space.

I love Garland personally. Huge 5v5 scorer that doesn't ask for PP1 time. Tenacious style. Reasonable contract with term. Good age still. Perfect fit.
Vancouver could very well deal for defense, which they lack badly. We might have the inside track with their management too.

Only guy who the Pens should deal from D is Dumo and he doesn’t fit Vancouvers timeline

I feel like trading dumo is like finding a buyer for a 1976 Winnebago that hasn't run since '82 for anything more than $50.
I think there are quite a few teams that would be interested, but it’s awkward because you’re probably trading him to a contender then while trying to be a contender as well.

I don’t see the fit long term for Garland here with our RW depth next year.

Much prefer we add a Barbashev type to L3.

Honestly unless we are replacing Dumoulin I don’t see the reason to move him. If we are out of the playoffs feel free, but he’s succeed well since Sullivan started playing him appropriately.

It's not 1995 anymore. Most wingers are expected to be able to play both sides to adjust to a team's needs/injury situation. It's basically in the job description at this point.
Ours do. Garland is no exception. He has played some left historically and did quite well.
And even if he's not the one swapping to the left side, Rust can do that.

The off-wing obsession here bores me. It rarely checks out statistically.
It's about chemistry, talent and hard work.

I just don’t really see what Garland adds that we don’t already have in spades in our top nine.

Oh okay well let me explain then.
I figure that the top 6's main objective is to score at even-strength, and that goals win games.

Seems like that's something he knows how to do. He even did it for Arizona before the nice linemate arrangement in Vancouver, so I'm not concerned about his ability to adjust to a different situation and do it here as well.
