He was right about something not long ago actually, I think it concerned PIT just can't remember the specifics. But that's my failure, not his. When was the last time Eklund was right about something? Rossi probably has a better record lol
nah, I think you're confusing him with someone else. Lebrun maybe?NEVER!
Yea we are f***edAlso if Nashville has to buy out Duchene, I think that pretty much guarantees the only way the Penguins could get out of Granlund's deal is a buyout.

What do you mean? Also if Nashville has to buy out Duchene, I think that pretty much guarantees the only way the Penguins could get out of Granlund's deal is a buyout.
You are either having a stroke or trollingnah, I think you're confusing him with someone else. Lebrun maybe?
Poile retirement gift. There is no other way to rationalize it. He got hosed for a so-so player that pretty much everyone agreed would never fit, who was traded away from a team that is currently hacking off its limbs with no anesthetic.Considering this market for washed up 2C's it is absolutely absurd that Ron Sleepy Hextall acquired Granlund with 0 retention for a 2nd.
I feel like they should just keep him if another team is asking for $2 million retained to just take him.
Petry isn't a bad player and I like Pettersson-Petry as the 2nd pair.
Boston, I agree, makes sense to move a goalie. But would they move one to the Pens? I don't know how good they will be this coming year, but there's a non-zero chance they play the Pens in the first round. It would look very bad if they ended up losing to the Pens because they traded them a Vezina goalie or worse his equally good 24 year old backup.
Calgary's looking to move out like $15M between Hanifin, Lindholm, and Backlund. I don't think they'll be in a cap crunch for long.
San Jose, do we want Kahkonen, though?
Anaheim and Winnipeg might be willing or even want to trade their goalies, but they don't HAVE to. Dubas HAS to find a starting goalie. If it's a game of chicken, Dubas will flinch first.
I think Malkin re-signing.He was right about something not long ago actually, I think it concerned PIT just can't remember the specifics. But that's my failure, not his.

Far be it from me to be the aggressively negative hipster asshole that I evidently am in saying so but not buying out Granlund is a downer.
He's the gold standard of hockey Journalism, gets all the scoops.Did someone seriously just say that Eklund was a respected hockey journalist but LeBrun wasn't?
Stay in school kids.
Probably yeah. I won't complain if they just get out now rather than risk him getting too slow tho
.I think the main five teams in need of a goalie are us, Buffalo, NJ, Ottawa, and LA if they can move cap. LA aside, they've just got to live with potentially making a rival better if they make moves. They might prefer us to the other teams; they might find we're the best offer.
Calgary are looking to take players back - like they asked for Duclair from Florida - and still have thing about wanting to make space for Dustin Wolf.
I don't really want Kahkonen but maybe Dubas does.
And I feel like Dubas is already at that point in the game of chicken. Jarry would be an unlikely return at this point (and is probably taking one potential goalie market off of the table anyway). There's no sane starters in UFA (although maybe just as sane as Vladar or Kahkonen). Not striking prior to UFA or in the opening day doesn't seem to change his position to me.
They need him to convince Duchene to sign for 1mil
Jake - Sid - Rakell
Smith - Geno - Rust
xxx - Duchene - Granlund
Isn't Duchene kind of a tire fire defensively?
