has Campbell last 3 seasons in their entirety been any worse than gibsons? I mean if you look at all three years I feel Campbell has been better.

If Dubas wants to move Petry, I really don't think he'd have any issues doing it. Just like the Penguins traded for Smith instead of overpaying someone in UFA, I completely believe another team would trade for Petry instead of overpaying someone in UFA.

After seeing Smith move for a 3rd though, I'm skeptical the Penguins would get back anything more than cap space if they're trading him. They could get decent value for him if they take money back, but I have a feeling Dubas wants his money off the books entirely.
