Showcase might be the wrong term for him. Proof that he's not hampered by the slew of injuries he had last year might be better. Because guys like him do fall off a cliff at some point in their 30s and injuries can hasten that decline.

I think their hope is the following:
- Acciari shows he's healthy and durable enough to still be of some value to a contender's bottom six.
- Beauvillier has enough offensive pop to be a bottom six option for a contender lacking some scoring down the lineup.
- Someone needs a 13th forward and is willing to take a flyer on Nieto. Similar to Ruhwedel last year.

I think it's highly unlikely Hayes has any positive value, and I wouldn't be surprised to see him scratched when Glass is healthy.

I think Graves has negative value. And I think they're going to keep playing Grzelcyk in the hopes that someone gets desperate at the deadline, but more than likely he will continue to have negative value and will be stuck here until his contract expires in the spring.

The youth movement we all want will likely come in February/March if the Pens can move some of these players out.
Both Acciari and Nieto 100% clear waivers right now. Acciari becuase he still has a year left on his deal and Nieto because he sucks. I’d say it’s 50/50 if Beau would.

They are playing because Mike Sullivan is a moron and Dubas isn’t any smarter.

Pulju probably has more value than Acciari and Hayes and he's a UFA. So why would he re-sign here.
We value Pulju more.

I don't know if GMs do. He's gotten a reputation for not being the brightest player. That was a criticism of him in Edmonton along with the eventual injuries.

Nieto 100% does.

I don't know if Acciari does. Maybe because of his contract. But there are a lot of old school GMs out there.

There were 6 or 7 teams that strongly coveted Jiricek the last few weeks, including the Predators, whom the #mnwild play tonight. I do believe at least one team offered 2 first-rounders.

You said in a post like 15 minutes before that the Penguins aren’t in a position to be paying those kind of assets for Jiricek
He also thinks Dubas should have been able to get the Sharks 1st OV pick for rental Guentzel. You're not talking to someone playing with a full deck.

If we have an extra 1st we are.

The issue is Dubas has very few pieces that can return those.

Yeah no reason we shouldn’t have got Celebrini for Jake.

Lol. Hunt(2020- 3rd), '25- 1st, '26- 3rd and 4th and '27- 2nd for Jiricek and '25- 5th.
Yea, that's kinda nuts to me.

I get it if you have the pieces I guess and are really high on the player, but I wouldn't do that.

Onto the next young struggling high draft pick. Byfield?? Rob Blake is a noted idiot.
