Sullivans eventual departure will probably feel like a real anti-climax. Barerly even a sigh of relief and more of an angry "how could it take 8 (or 18) years of failure for this to finally happen?".

I don't feel confident in this current organisation being competitive in the future.
It will be like a CEO getting fired for major embezzlement AFTER the company is bankrupt and shut down and everyone has lost their job.

Here's something to keep us entertained though:

An easports 100overall hybrid of 90s era brodeur, hasek, cujo, roy and richter couldn't save this team from the 4 undefended attackers camping in the crease that is our d zone coverage

lol seriously WTF is this team gonna do with another goaltender?

Obviously just a rumor but if this is where this team's head is at - "if we just had the goaltending" then... well... I wouldn't be surprised since they are clearly all idiots and cowards.

They have one of their best prospects... a goaltender... playing in Wheeling FFS.

Prospects can't play in the NHL unless they are scoring 50 goals, 100 points or winning Vezinas.

Thinking back to Jake wasn't he tearing it up his first call up and the Pens still sent him down midseason only to call him back up again later that year and he (predictably) continued to tear it up?

I'm just thinking back to how we had the most "competitive NHL camp ever seen".

“What we’re looking for is competitive spirit. Execution. And we’re looking for hockey IQ,” Sullivan said. “And those are things that I think add up to make a positive impact. So regardless of what the position is, I think guys are going to get an opportunity to show what they can do, and if they can make an impact in a positive way with a group, they’ll be in the conversation for us.”

And now we are rolling out Matt Nieto, Noel Acciari, Kevin Hayes, and soon to be Blake Lizotte every f***ing game.

Hayes/Acciari/Lizotte at least occasionally have good games but Nieto is such a nothing player. He doesn't score, doesn't hit, is slow, can't stickhandle. I have no idea what he does. Pks I guess, but anybody in this league can do that.

Anyways it's really funny how quickly St. Louis leapt at the chance to get Montgomery while we're going to stick with Bozo until the earth stops spinning.

Hayes / Acciari / Lizotte are the same bullshit we've been rolling out for f***ing years.

Penguins fans trying to act like they are anything good is f***ing malpractice.

Acciari was considered a useful player by teams like the Bruins and Panthers and played playoff games for them. At least once upon a time actual good NHL teams considered him something.

Hayes has been on a steep decline for years now. There's a reason we got paid to take him. But he's actually played better than I thought he would. Low bar though.

Lizotte has been fine since coming into the lineup imo. Scored a few goals, has been a forechecking presence. 13th-14th forward on a good team, but whatever.

Nieto though...man he just does absolutely nothing. I can't think of a single shift where he's done anything to impress me.

This is why I don’t take this board seriously.

You’ll come at me with this shit and then in a year or two be talking about how these players sucked.

Just like you talked positively about Carter when the contract was signed and now bring it up as a negative.

This is what I said about the Carter signing:
Not sure how we'd replace him given our cap constraints and we have nobody in the system rearing to take those minutes and do as well or better with them. If the Pens were to try to find a Carter equivalent elsewhere they'd have to pay assets or more money to get that.
Not exactly a glowing endorsement. I didn't denigrate it, that's true.

If you want to be a dick and relitigate the past though I could easily find posts from you gloating about Kasperi Kapanen going on a heater for St. Louis and we all know how that ended for him there so he who throws stones etc

Anyways nowhere in my post did I imply that any of Lizotte/Hayes/Nieto were actually all that good. The only player I mentioned that was actually considered an asset by good teams prior to the Pens was Acciari. And that's true. He was.

Not sure I gloated about Kapanen. I was advocating moving him for Pulju! lol

Funny how that has come true.

I guess like there is just no defense of how this bottom is built is more so my point. I'm so tired of the bottom six.

I'm with you on that. It's funny how Dubas talked about building a bottom six that could score as well as defend and here we are with a bottom six that still can't score and mostly still can't defend either lol.

Sullivan gots to go!

I have a feeling that St. Louis acted quickly this morning because they sensed Pittsburgh "might" do something after the back-to-back embarrassing home losses. Any sane, normal organization would have done SOMETHING after that. Not Pittsburgh. Oh no. Everything is fine. Have we done anything at all today? An equipment manager fired? Puustinen in for Poulin at practice? Anything at all?

I am also interested in all of these Habs-Penguins rumors that keep popping up everywhere. Dreger is not the best source for Habs rumors, so I really don't know why there is all of this smoke. Also, Hughes is reluctant to make ANY move that sacrifices any future assets, while Dubas is looking for young talent and/or future picks. So who is going to do the dumping? Not sure there is anything to this rumor tbh.

This clown show cannot go on for MUCH longer, can it? I mean if Sullivan is going to stay, then can we at least continue selling off players...and NOT return all young players back to the AHL when more useless drek returns from injury? Apparently, that is too much to ask.

This is what we get for hiring a GM like Dubas.

Sullivan talking about a competitive camp where a player's play will dictate his chances is like me talking about getting around to cleaning out my basement. It's just words and won't ever happen.
