Meh I would rather see Poulin get rewarded for his strong start. He has been playing Pk down there and even has a shorty. They need to reward some of the young players there who are starting off well.
Yeah I'd be fine with that.
I'm a big believer in really finding out what you have before discarding it.
Poulin's played 6 games at this level. Odds are he turns into nothing but you never know for sure.

10 Drew O’Connor - 87 Sidney Crosby - 67Rickard Rakell

8 Michael Bunting - 71 Evgeni Malkin - 17Bryan Rust

18 Jesse Puljujarvi - 20 Lars Eller - 55 Noel Acciari

72 Anthony Beauvillier - 46 Blake Lizotte - 48Valtteri Puustinen

What a f***ing moron. Acciari on that 4th line makes more sense than Puustinen, f***ing Christ, please f*** this team up in enough losses in a row so this kind of f***ing favouritism over logic horse shit finally ends.

Our lineup looks like what you'd see in the pre-season, when half the regulars are sitting and a bunch of bottom six players are playing higher in the lineup than they usually would. Except this is our actual 100% healthy lineup.

Good times.
Sullivan is a dumb f***ing :eek::eek::eek::eek:.

Does it? He’s been peddling a half foot in and half foot out approach since day one.

Guarantee Dubas continues to fill out the roster with useless depth pieces after Sully is gone. Same narrative was true in Toronto.
I think you are right. The problem is I do not believe for a second that we will ever see the day when Dubas is here and Sullivan is not. If I am proven wrong, I will be one happy camper.

Not that I believe Dubas is going to turn it around. Just that Sullivan is the poison that needs to be sucked up and spit out of this organization right now.

It has always been a problem with Sullivan. He does reward certain players, but it is never about blind merit. It always seems like there is an agenda.

He has never liked Poulin from day 1. He has never liked Puljujarvi. But Matt Grzelcyk got rewarded for some reason. He can't defend, so it can't be that. He passes the puck from left to right to Malkin better than Karlsson and Letang. So now he is the PP1.

You don't want to suggest that birth certificates matter a lot to the coach of the Pittsburgh Penguins, but we have seen too many instances where that certainly seems to be the case.

With Poulin I sort of get it though. He put himself in a tough position with bad camps, including this one. He was rough defensively in his handful of games at the NHL level.
He was not good in 2021-22 or 2022-23 for Wilkes. Then there's the injuries and the mental health.
However, last year he was strong in Wilkes and deserved the call. This year too.

I do agree with your overall sentiment. There's definitely an agenda. Some guys really need to do way more than expected to force their way in. Defensively-inclined players have a big advantage and are more a part of the plan.

I think the Grzelcyk move was more Quinn than Sullivan, since he runs the PP. But it surprised me. We were like 10th in the league on the PP at the time. Weird time to screw with it.
It hasn't worked either. We're now 15th. Maybe they just wanted to reduce Letang's minutes and workload?

Edit: Oh, snap. Poulin called up.

Can’t wait to see what Poulin does in his 3 games over the next three weeks playing 5 minutes a night.
Just like Puustinen…has he done anything? He had a goal and still can’t play more than 8 min…hard to show anything under this coach

Sullivan does more or less have a history of riding the hot hand in goal but I'd have bet a decent sum of money that Jarry was going to get the net today..."we want to see how he looks."

Concussion for Glass. Hayes week-to-week.

I'm not really as down on Hayes as many here. He's matched O'Connor's 4 points in exactly half the minutes on the year.
Yeah he hasn't been great defensively, but I can say the same for many Forwards.

Nieto scored yesterday in Wilkes. Sounds like the plan is for him to get the full 2 weeks of conditioning there.
I'm not really that opposed to him getting a lineup spot when he gets back. We can't defend, and he at least brings that.
The one thing that Nashville fans said of Glass was that he was indeed made of Glass. So this tracks.

I haven't had any issue with Hayes on the 4th line. Getting a 2nd and a 3rd to take him with what he's provided, it's really, REALLY hard to complain.

Yeah, Nieto will get a conditioning stint and then a couple games out of respect. I think he's on his way to being an AHL journeyman. That said, if waived, Colorado might bring him back for free. I can see the horrendous injustices of giving him unearned time though because it IS Sullivan.

Puljujarvi-Eller-Puustinen
Beau-Lizotte-Acciari

makes a TON of sense. Too bad we won't see it.

It’s kind of wild how close this team is right now to a playoff spot lol.

By points percentage the Pens are the fourth worst team in the east. They've just played a lot of games.

It's just annoying

We know we're not good anymore, but the east is bad enough, that if we weren't such clowns wasting points, we COULD make post season.

It's the same in MLB.. Pirates are ass, but their leage/division is so bad, like 15ish more wins might have gotten into playoffs...but no, have to go on nearly multiple TEN game losing streaks
