At the end of the day while I have no idea about the future of any of the prospects we got I can also say that the following is true:

1) We may end the year without a first round pick

2) We will end the year without Jake Guentzel

The fact that this season may end with us handing our pick to SJ *and* having no Jake *and* still having Mike Sullivan....that f-ing sucks.

Both of them are. Koivunen > Pickering and Prono > Poulin

I think Koivunen has the highest upside. Lucius is alright. He’s probably one of our top 12 prospects right away though that’s not saying much.

Need to now get some picks for Neds and Smith.

in principle, yes - in practice, Karlsson has been and will continue to be a disaster on this team

Our system and coach suck. It's like saying Sid's a disaster for only getting ppg.

People are saying stuff like this but as @Jaded-Fan said none of us has even the slightest clue about how good any of these prospects are so whatever.

We won't know if this deal was any good for a few years, realistically

We'll see how it plays out, but not getting any of Nikishin, Morrow, Nadeau or Blake is rough regardless of how people wanna cope with the deal. At the end of the day the team moved the most valuable asset in the TDL class without getting any of the other team's top-4 prospects. I'd have rather him be dealt to the Rangers if the rumors that they dangled Othmann and a pick were true.

Turning all of our trash into EK65 wasn't awful.

He hasn't been that positively impactful. And now the Penguins have a terrible contract for another 3 years and will trade away a lottery pick.

That would definitely suck. But if it’s any consolation we look to be way too bad to finish outside of a lottery spot lol, especially if Sid is going to be moody the rest of the year

I really like Koivunen. I like Ponomarev. I wish the first was another 20-22 year old instead.

Bunting is an overpriced third-liner, but he can probably be dealt.

I want Cruz Lucius shot into the sun. No fanbase - minor or pro - should ever have to hear that stupid f***ing name announced in-game.

We got an NHL player, 3 decent prospects, and a 1st/2nd round pick... for a rental player that's injured. Don't think it's as bad as it sounds. Would have loved Nadeau or Blake being included but you can only get what you're offered.

Koivunen is very underrated. His point production as 20 year old in Liga is elite.

Yea he's good, but shouldn't be the prize of a Guentzel return.

Is Bunting a 2024 cap dump to balance part of Guentzel's salary? The fact that he's still going to be on the books for 2 more years after this at 4.5 M per makes me think this is a Dubas-ex Leaf man crush

When has a rental returned that? Just this year Hanifin, a bonafide top pair guy returned a 1st and third. A couple years ago Stone returned a 2nd + Branstrom.

It would be shocking if he did.

This team is a dumpster fire and Jake will have fresh vibes in Carolina. Not to mention he'll have about 8 suitors offering him $9.5M+ AAV this summer.

He's seemingly terrified of change but he will shortly find out it's not actually difficult to move when you make $100M playing a sport and your work flies you on charter planes everywhere.
