Morrow is as good of a prospect as Yager.

Apparently there are some smart people on other boards saying that morrow is a kid who has refused to sign with the hurricanes the past two seasons and may be choosing to play out his college career and then go UFA…just FYI
No shot there are smart people on those boards.

I like acquiring Bunting but I'd be mad at Dubas if he sacrificed value on Guentzel to acquire Bunting. That's basically where I'm at.

Bunting is a guy I would have liked in a 1 for 1 swap with Smith as a change of scenery, but I wouldn't have wanted to pay value for him.

Before we acquire Morrow we might wanna find out if he even wants to sign here. I think he can become a UFA if he waits until August 1st ‘25. So he’d better be ready to sign this summer.
Exactly what I was thinking…shit deal and we get nothing if he won’t sign here

Carolina doesn't have an AHL team. Why should he sign when he's blocked at the NHL level and can't get the proper development in the minors?

At least he is going to a team I have no problem rooting for. Definitely didn't want to see Jake with the Rangers.

Well Dubas needs to find out if that’s why he hasn’t signed or if he’s intent on going to UFA as some people think…would be major incompetence to trade for him without knowing from him

Yeah, I think I agree with not only how you describe the two sides, but also that I feel similar. I guess it’s easier for me to be okay with the core riding it out because I’m simply not as invested as I used to be, so the losses don’t really hurt.
Same.

I have mentioned before that we gave up our season tickets after 20 years to start travelling more.

I was in Japan and Taiwan in January. I go to Budapest, Vienna and Prague in three weeks. Have six trips planned this coming year, five of which are out of the country.

I had my great years at the games, and will continue to follow the Pens. But am making room for other things now as well.

"It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel FINE!"

I guess the country club does revoke some memberships.

I'll miss Jake. Too bad Sullivan wasn't traded.

Why would he sign with a shit team that has Letang and Erik Karlsson when he can go to UFA and go wherever he wants?
“I keep my eye on things, especially when they bring in guys like Brent and hypothetically Erik Karlsson who are right shots,” Morrow said. “If I do step in here, it would be great to be able to learn from them. If I can even be close to being as good as them one day, that would be really exciting.”

I do think we’re seeing that a big portion of the fan base does not care to let the core ride it out. I wonder if that really becomes an issue next season.
As someone who I view as a rational poster. I ask you. Because I'm one who does want the core to ride it out. (yes, because they deserve it. because they didn't **** their pants every year like the Sharks core or others). I feel trading Jake is.. just so counter productive. He's literally the best winger Sid has ever had/will have. How do we compete next year with this huge hole? Say we get Bunting, prospect, pick, whatever. As long as the big 4 are here, we are going to *try* to win. You can argue if thats a good plan or not, it doesn't matter. There is going to be an attempt to win with them still here. Now minus Jake, idk where we go. I was for shopping Raks, Eller, Acciari, Smith, Ned. (even though I wish it was Jars). And I get it, maybe Jake doesn't want to re-sign here. We will never know. We do know what athletes like, and if you offer him a competitive deal I'm sure he would have signed. I guess I'm asking. What do you see as the plan if we are trying to win next year? How do we replace 59's production, when IMO we need MORE guys like him.. as of course sid and geno get older. We need MORE top end talent, not less.

Bunting better be a throw in cause they would rather sign Jake long-term and that Bunting. So KD better have said I'll take him off your hands for another prospect or pick!

I don’t travel out of country nearly that much, but I have one kid who just started university and another who is a really good basketball player, so between helping one start a new life and travelling all over the country for the other, hockey is just a distant 99th on my radar now. I figure I won’t even check in once geno and Sid check out.
