For sure. If you're not cheatin', you're not tryin'.

Wish this team was as cutthroat as Vegas.
They've gone through, what, 3 coaches over the past 7 seasons? And that's despite the team actually have more success than the Pens during that time frame.

Imagine that, a team not settling for mediocrity. Even if a coach coaches the team to a playoff spot and a 100 point season, he's not immune to firing if they feel he hasn't taken the team to the next level.

It's getting close.
No, it isn't. The Pirates have sucked for DECADES. The Penguins have had bad years before, they're going through a new one now. But they won cups and were a dominant team for a good period. The Penguins also actually spend money, unlike the Pirates.

Tried to get "#1 or #2 prospect" but sending a rental/player without term it's basically impossible.

Sounds like Jake's refusal to discuss an extension with anyone before the summer basically f***ed any potential return.

Ohhh, good. Let's hear how Sully factored in. "Sully's too busy to have been kept abreast of the past few days' work." There's the excuse.

I'm talking about the recent front office in the past 4 years. It's very comparable to the Pirates and their strategy of a quiring players. Can't really compare cap and no cap, but the Pirates have an internal cap they adhere too. Instead of getting actual players with talent, they grab a bunch of free agents veteran fodder and lesser prospects hoping to hit one for cheap. This is what Dubas and the penguins have done.

Never entertained working a sign and trade. Never had Jake's camp talk to other teams. Never thought it'd improve any prospective deals. Jake's camp never wanted to negotiate; during the past summer or during the season.

He is signing in NYR on July 1. Book it.

I get keeping Smith with the prices today, and because other teams might balk at the extra year/have reservations about his cap hit.

But why not get something for Ned?

That doesn't make sense.

Not even trying to talk contracts with Jake is mind boggling and he’s talking about Jake signing elsewhere on July 1. Anyone hoping he’s coming back is out to lunchhhhhh he’s NOT coming back.

"I think we showed that in the Summer [we believe in this group]"

Dude, you can MAKE IN SEASON MOVES HOW f***ING STUPID ARE YOU DUBAS

Honestly, he's flat out lying. No different than Hextall. He wants, badly, to tank this f***ing team so he can sell it and rebuild to his Soo boys. No other rationale for looking at this dog meat roster construction and making ZERO moves. f*** you man.
