I'm willing to have an open mind and see where the whole Archibald thing goes. He's not on a disaster contract or anything so it's hard to get too worked up.

But I mean... gotta wonder about this team's pro scouting, sometimes. It's not like he was coming off a white-hot playoff performance. Quite the opposite, actually.

Talk about being a playoff ghost…at least Caggs has had a pulse there

Not sure how the full lineup will shake out, but I'm guessing some combo of Kapanen, Zohorna, Poehling, DOC, Caggiula and Puustinen will be the top six.

16/20 NHL player lineup against Detroit, facing 4 NHL bottom 6'ers and a middle D pair = lost by 4 goals

This seems like a pretty NHL-light lineup. Does this mean we're gonna win?

Oh yeah...Halllander...forgot about him. He was quiet in camp.

First significant chunk of cuts. Biggest cuts will likely come Tuesday, as there will be just one preseason game left after that and it'll likely be a tune-up for the regular season and a last chance for any roster spots.

Just a guess. Unless they really want to play a 31-year-old enforcer, a couple WBS players are going to play out of position - a right wing like Andonovski on the left side, Hallander at center, etc.

The trend is the Pens will never win another game with any lineup, although it might be a bit extreme to say their 82 consecutive regular season losses will all be by four goals.

I don’t think Archibald’s quotes means we are keeping him. I think we will end up keeping him because our GM and coach are idiots.
