Bieksa just summed up what I was trying to say earlier. The Leafs do look different. Even losing they are sticking to their gameplan and look in control.

What's become an interesting trend and could explain why we're struggling scoring despite having the best offensive team (by a lot) in the league based on xGF/60 is that the team is missing the net way, way too much. Moneypuck has us as the team that misses the net the 3rd most of any team in the league.
Definitely something to keep an eye on, but moneypuck has us almost double (-18.13) the 2nd worst (9.13) team in the league (montreal) in GF above expected. There has to be an explanation past "we suck at scoring" or "we're getting goalied" because it can't be that simple. We're getting by because the defense has ticked back to last season (top-10) and we have arguably the best goalie in the league. Probably wont hold forever.
