Ok it's official. I have an Oilers fan willing to complete the following trade:

Dumo @ 50% for 1st('24) + Niemilainen

That all depends. Is it another Kap/Zucker waste of a 1st, or a significant addition?

I don't mind moving futures for higher end players in an effort to get over the hump, even if the team fails. But half assed measures or doing nothing at all isn't acceptable.

Chychrun and Kane I believe are the only high end players left but Arizona wants both a 2025 and 2026 1st rounders for Chychrun. I don't know if that is lottery protected (let's assume it isn't). It's pretty risky considering 25 is the last year of the core and we don't know how well they'll be playing by then. 2 years is a long time from now.

Hextall continues to neither make the team a contender in the short term nor replenish the team for the future. I wish he would do one or the other, not this stagnant, lazy approach.

If there's that many teams seriously pursuing him I don't see how we get him. Hextall doesn't seem like the type to get in a bidding war, and one of those other teams will sack up and pay the ask.

Even if Hextall does agree to pay a high price, other teams have way better prospects than we do to offer.

It’ll be tough to get chychrun, he’s basically the only top guy left. I wouldn’t mind Ritchie, either, though I hate his face and how he wears his helmet. Could be a good get for the bottom 6.

I agree but this local media blitz against him just might push him further than he's used to Not that they matter but there is chatter out there and it sounds like everyone is calling for his head Could be nonsense but it sounds like there's a Coach/GM disconnect as well. I've seen crazier things.

I like Chychrun a lot but there needs to be some depth additions as well. Not sure how that gets done.

Chychrun to Edmonton makes a lot of sense and I'd be stunned if the Pens could outbid the Oilers. Edmonton has every reason to go all-in right now.
