Alright.. targets that I could stomach with Chychrun gone:

Miller, because it would fun, sanity and logic be dammed.

Garland and Boeser could both be ok, but trading Petts or POJ for them now is a no from me.

Is Barabanov available from SJ?

Provorov and Laughton, but Philly would never.

So yea. Wtf do they do?

Honestly going to miss Blueger. I know he couldn't score at all this year but I liked him as a player up until the drought this year.

I thought he had more to give and his game just went the opposite way this year. Hope he finds it again elsewhere.

I hate how black and white people are.

This is a grey situation.

We owe it to Malkin and Crosby, and the fans, to ride it out to the end with them. But no matter what they could reasonably do the team will be second tier contenders at this point in their careers. No move that any of us could get behind would move them into first tier contenders.

This doesn't even address the inevitable injuries coming to one or two of their core.

So a minor deal or two at best. Let them go and try to get a fourth cup. But keep the picks intact for the coming rebuild.

Best of both worlds.
I think some of us see this for what it is. All good things come to an end. Haven’t seen anyone dispute the “cores” greatness and legacy, and any recognition coming their way. However, the organization has made them all multimillionaires, provided them with 15+ years of competive teams and “chances to win cups”. At one point does the organization look at life without those three? Do we really think we can win a cup with those guys at 38+? Yet we are going to continue to sell off draft picks to support them.

This train of thought is insane. People need to let go. It’s been over.

He was a good player before his jaw was broken. Wish him well, he played extremely hard minutes.

Not matching/beating Ottawa's bid for Chychrun should be a firing offence imo.

If there is any ambition for doing anything this year, then a true minute-munching transition beast LD was the one big piece that could change everything. He was there at an affordable price. He'd have helped this year and next. He could have been part of a rebuild, either extended or sold. And if this team doesn't have ambition for this year, they should be selling and targeting pieces with room to go.
