Imagine saying "Things are not working" and your big solution to that is to put a 5'4" 140lb waiver claim on the second line with your 37 old year old C :help:

Edit: and yes, I know I'm exaggerating Phillips' size, but I couldn't care enough to actually look it up.

You aren't actually lol

It's a good thing Jake's so cerebral on the ice cuz he ain't that much bigger than Phillips.

He's listed as 5'10 and 180lbs and I'll be damned if he's an ounce over 165.

It's a longstanding tradition for reference sites to badly misrepresent players' height/weight. Intentionally or not I dunno.

Maybe they weigh guys after a trip to Cheesecake Factory in the dead middle of the off-season or something. Something like 60 games into an 82 game season, even with dieticians/professional chefs, these guys are probably down a good 10+lbs due to the amount of cardio.

:handclap: he's trying deferent things. they might not work but at least he's trying something. as for firing, I've given up hope.
But he’s not. Not really. He’s going to put offensive guys on the 3rd line and use them in a defensive capacity, and then get mad when they don’t score.

This is the definition of rearranging seats on the titanic.

we need to try something ...like sit Jankowski for the playoffs after playing him 82 games in suck mode...this is his problem, he could have tried and I mean really tried some of the Wilkes guy earlier, give them chance to work the kinks out, develop confidence, he should have brought Poulin after three games, it was obvious he was better than anyone on bottom 6... instead do the same thing for 50 games, braiwashed everyone in organization that we are competing hard and we liked our defensive effort, and now that he finally realizes that play off is out of reach...he will try something..like putting that Caps waiver fodder on L2...that will get you going...

Anyways he sucked oot the life of most of our players, have them played these stupid stretch passes to the static winger on the wall, if he is lucky to redirect the dump and go for a grind..

Eliteprospects, which I find usually has the most up to date player height and weight stats, has him listed at 5’7, 141. Probably pretty honest, maybe giving him an extra inch or so.

We already know he’s not going anywhere unfortunately lol
firing him it would not give us best chance to win. Besides we really like our deffensive effort and we also like our level of compete

On a serious note, unless we trade and put 4-5 new players which passes brain MRI to proof that their brains are not washed..and a new coach...I say 5% chance. Right now, I need to check what Vegas is giving...

If they fired Mike Sullivan, I think they make it in a cake walk tbh.
There's actually a lot more games than I thought between now and the deadline too. The Pens play 9 times between now and the 8th.

If they had theoretically shitcanned Sully today and gone on a run they could actually look like a buyer by the TDL.

But instead Dubas is gonna do the Hextall special and just sit on his thumbs until it's too late.

I think he's going to essentially say on Wednesday that there won't be a full-on fire sale, but that the team's inconsistent performance means they will be moving some players out while still looking to see if there is someone available who can help them long-term.

So he’s going to be Hextall.
No. Hextall clearly didn't have a plan. To move out the cap he did and then waste it all on someone like Granlund is just mind-bogglingly stupid. Even if you think Granlund has value and can be a contributor in the right role, it's not at $5 million or for a second round pick.

I think it's going to be more of sending Rakell/Smith out and either acquiring a younger forward in that trade, or using assets acquired to then go and do a separate deal.

For example, say you get a third round pick for Reilly Smith (same thing it cost you back in the summer). Then you turn around and use that third and say Ty Smith to get a 24-year-old forward who is blocked somewhere or has promise but maybe hasn't quite put it all together.

Dubas' plan was to win a cup and we are 9 points out of the playoffs.

You're funny bro.

I'd take Granlund over Graves. For the record Granlund would be 5th in PPG and points amongst our forwards

I would be surprised if he even commits to doing that much on Wednesday.

I think he'll say that there's two weeks of hockey left and what he does will be dictated by how the team performs between now and then.

I doubt Dubas will openly commit to moving guys already.
