Speculation: Penguins off day talk thread: Yes, Sully is still the coach

Clearly Mike Sullivan and Ron Hex... er... Kyle Dubas aren't on the same page.

Although I've been informed multiple times that the GM rules the roster with an iron fist and poor Mikey just sits there polishing his Beanpot Tom Brady award and shrugging his shoulders innocently so there's that.

Can't believe Dubas signed and called up all these bottom six forwards that are exactly the same as the bottom six forwards we've been icing for four plus years.

Wish Mike Sullivan would get a chance to play guys that fit his system.

Alas perhaps someday he will after the team fires a few more GMs in an effort to get the the root of the problem.

Part of the reason I'm so eager for the teardown/rebuild phase to begin is because I don't think Sullivan would want to stick around coaching a bottom feeder/rebuilding team.

The longer they keep up this bullshit masquerade of being contenders, the longer we're gonna have to deal with Sullivan's coaching neuroses.

Yeah we'd be cramping The Mayor's style.

It would be very sad but the best thing for him and his quest to earn the key to the city of Boston would be to move on.

Can't believe they are smack up against the Salary Cap as in the past, Good God you are DUMB

I'm gonna be SO insufferable when all the "Hey it turns out Mike Sullivan had a CRAZY amount of control!" articles start poppin' after he's finally shitcanned.

OK OK... even more insufferable.
I eagerly await Yohe's heel-turn on Sullivan. Genuinely, I'm excited. That'll be the deathknell of Sullivan's coaching job; as soon as the Pittsburgh sports media dorks turn on a person, they're on their way outta town momentarily.

Ahhhh the ol Dejan Kovačević maneuver.

A tried and true of the local sports media.

The flip flop of epic proportions in a 24 hour span when Bylsma was fired was quite the spectacle. Carrying his water and fighting his battles with fanaticism usually reserved for that of loved ones and family members one day. Saying they always knew he in way over his head and had been advocating for his dismissal for years the next. Glorious.

The lineup is irrelevant at this point. Excepting the goaltending and the core, our younger players would perform better elsewhere and our older players wouldn’t leave the press box.

It’s no secret that we can’t coach young talent and it’s no secret that we keep Jeff Carter because of intangibles that other players would develop quickly had they been given more opportunity to do so.

If I’m any of the bottom nine minus Malkin I’d be looking for opportunities elsewhere.

Except Harkins…he won’t get greater playing time than w this coach lol

So...

Rakell Crosby Rust
Smith Malkin O'Connor
Phillips Eller Puustinen
Harkins Carter Puljujarvi
White

Great to have Harkins back. Only 3 forwards in the league with 0 goals and more games played. 2 are fighters wit 70+ pim, the other is Connor Brown, and Harkins isn’t even Connor Brown.
31 games left…….he really could get to 65 with 0 goals. Let’s cheer him on!

isles are winning too..I’m happy we’re all excited about Jagr because there’s not much else to cheer for…I’ve watched the Isles, Devils and Wings recently and they’re all much better than the Pens lol…don’t see us jumping over any of them

It's so weird that they are scratching Pulju. I wonder if he is hurt.

I'm fine with Harkins being up given Poulin, Nieto, and Jake's injuries. But, why is Colin White up?
Completely agree. There has been no consistency with how they've used Poolparty, either. He was on the third line, then the second line, and last game his minutes were reduced.

Their treatment of Gruden has also been odd. He's been excellent for WBS, scoring goals and playing on the PK. Yet he's barely gotten a look in the two games he's played in the NHL, and they just sent him back down.
