Dude we won the cup and Andy said someone was gonna tear their rotator cuff celebrating. I’m 99% sure he’s not even a pens fan, but some deep under cover flyers fan who forgot he was a flyers fan and now he’s living out the rest of his days miserable

Hahahaha... yeah... that tracks.

I understand people being aggravated by Andy and his neverending hand-wringing but I dunno. As someone who surely must rub people the wrong way more often than not with how I choose to pull for my favorite team I guess I just don't feel like I have much wiggle room to judge.

Yohe knows who pays his bills. Sullivan is ultra sensitive to any sort of criticism from the media. The last thing Yohe will do is put any blame on Sullivan.

Yea, I'm convinced there are 2 posters who are Yohe or another media person on this site. They continually go to the mat for Tomlin and Sullivan. Would not surprise me in the least

Maybe. My bet is if they bother they lurk, though.

Media members have made the choice to take their act to forums, reddit etc. and it rarely turns out well for them lol

As the board's resident Sullivan supporter, I want to make it clear that my overall philosophy on hockey coaches does not carry over to football.

I think Tomlin should have been fired 2-3 years ago.

I believe hockey coaches are punished more often for the failures of their GMs. Schemes are less varied in hockey, outside of special teams, and a coach is more of a motivator and manager of personnel. Find the right combos, deploy players at the right time, etc.

Good schemes can overcome modest talent deficiencies in football. There is more room for creativity. So when your coach is stuck with an old school mentality and refuses to adapt to modern football, it really hampers your organization.

So, if we're keeping track, you won't find me backing Tomlin like I have Sullivan.

never see them both at the same time.
I would be willing to bet the number of duplicate accounts on this board would make us sick.

"Oooo, look at me, I'm going to go play good HFPoster, bad HFPoster! Hazzah!"

Account 1: "I enjoy this team! They played well! I look forward to discussing the game and season with all of you!"
Account 2: "Losers! f***ing losers! f*** this f***ing teams of f***ing losers! Losers! f***!"

Are you saying people have too much time on their hands?

I’m not a duplicate account w Jaded-Fan lol. He rarely posts in the Pens section and I don’t post a lot in the Steelers either

HEY!! Most of us want what is best for the Pens !! We have differing views on how that can be done, BUT I don't hate you or 90% of this board

In the end I think this is true in like 98% of cases. People have different ways of expressing it but those who put lots of minutes of screen time in at this place almost certainly have a vested interest in the team.

Or maybe I'm just naïve IDK.

I don't expect everyone to like me and honestly I would be really worried if everyone agreed with me. What fun is that?

Be your own boss with minions who do the bulk of the work for you. And be good about getting work done in between posts. ;)

I mostly just want watching games to be enjoyable again.

Not having this feeling of "No other team would embarrass themselves like this", and feeling like an idiot if I can't tear them apart as well as other posters could (not out of wanting to defend them, just out of being not as good at breaking down play).

It rules that building a team around “playing the right way” means you have to watch your team make the dumbest most absolutely braindead actionable slur mistakes constantly.

I hate what this team has become. They always play like LESS than the sum of their parts.

And that is on the Coaching Staff.

I like Sullivan and think he is a good overall hockey coach - just not for this team as it is now. I'd rather take my chances with a new coach in the hopes that he will succeed where Sullivan has failed these past 6 years, than stick with this same coach and continue to be awful to watch.

The goal for this franchise should be one more Cup with this core - and those years are ticking away quickly.

I don't think that's the takeaway from that article. She says:

Still, if you resist the urge to hold Malkin to the standard of what he once was, it certainly seems as if his value as a second-line center stands up overall, at least to this point of the season.

I think that's pretty spot on.
