Yeah I posted for comic effect but she actually was the first person I contacted to talk about Crosby. She recorded all the Pens playoff wins starting in '89 on VHS and later actively transferred to DVD. She died in '10, after one more Stanley Cup and Super Bowl.

Edit: just wanted to add, she was also a big deal message board poster. Her (Steelers) forum literally poured one out.
She left a champion!

So is everyone waiting or staying up to see if Dubas gets a decent cheaper winger or what?

Is Tater really who we are looking for?

I just think he is more of the the same soft winger that if he isn't scoring he not doing much of anything. @Ryder71 I really don't think he's pushing anyone down the lineup. Wildly inconsistent

I always found him to be a pretty consistent player and he would undoubtedly help our depth. He's better than anyone we have who's currently forecasted to be in the bottom six. As far as a UFA goes he's the best of the bunch.

dont think theres any urgency for that. Could take up to training camp to get another forward
If you're goin for a guy like Tatar you need to move a bit sooner, especially now that our best wing will miss some time.. If it's a curtain jerker then yeah, wait I guess..

My mind is still blown KD was able to completely wipe away all of the terrible Hextall moves and completely reshape this team to be drastically better and more fun and exciting to watch. Good lord I’m on cloud 9!
Not all, we still have Carter who Hextall brought in. Sully was a JR hiring but Hextall re-signed him.

You are such a disappointment. It's 11.5 because they had to retain on Petry brainiac. Now if you have a legitimate argument I will listen. You're right it's not my money but, it's very poor asset management when cap space is the most important thing these days. Your name fits you perfectly. Enjoy the 70 points for 11.5.
It's actually $12.4 million because they're still hit with the dead cap from JJ's buyout. Get a brain moran.

Are you aware that Petry and EK65 have different contract term?

He’s a good top nine guy who comes with warts but has a history of being analytically solid in the regular season both by advanced stats and traditional.

Would he be my first choice? No, but we don’t really have a lot of flexibility.

There's also not much out there at this point. It's basically Tatar and Kessel, and Tatar is the better player at this stage of their careers. Pius Suter is available as a center, but Tatar could theoretically play in the top six for a spell and then fit on the third line. Suter won't.

Maybe there is a trade out there, but you don't want to take on too much cap with Guentzel coming back.

Gonna have to catch a few Pens games this year, Karlsson is playing off the scale right now. He was worth the price of admission by himself last year (kinda).

It will be interesting to see how his ability to create will mesh with other generational-level hockey sense players, there will be some ridiculous highlights, I suspect.

His zone entry game and elusiveness at the blueline might legitimately be at the best level of his career as well.

Honestly it probably only takes a half competent partner and a bit of forward defensive support to eliminate his defensive liabilities. The Sharks were utterly dreadful in those categories, he's been dragging around marginal NHLers since his first season in SJ with Brendan Dillon, which was a + season.

As a fan of hockey EK behind Sid and Geno definitely will create must see moments. The Pens likely stick him with fellow Swede M. Pettersson who will give EK everything he needs in a D partner. The only downside to those guys on a pairing is they aren't "strong" but that shouldn't matter entirely when we hold the puck majority of the time.

Good luck in SJ, I've always enjoyed you guys from afar.

You guys need to look at the remaining UFA's, there's not much there. Kane won't be available for a while and He'll likely require a cap hit we can't afford. Suter? Meh. Tatar had 48 points last year and played in every game. He's a middle six guy, and isn't gonna soil the bed away from the puck. Especially without Jake he's (on paper anyhow) our best bet.

We could make yet another trade but why give up more assets when we don't have to?

Was your Grandma's handle Hometowngirl?

To stay on topic, I really hope they let EK run the powerplay without Letang. I question the effectiveness of 2d vs 1d 4f. It is a unique situation to have two #1 dmen who are both offensively gifted, so it's a tough decision either way.
