"Well now that's that done I can finally get some sleep" she says as she spends hours perusing HF boards and re watching goals.

That's what happened to me after we won the Stanley Cup. I attended the game, got home later that evening, watched the game on TV and the celebration. A few times. :)

Didn't get to bed until like 5 am.

This game, similar, was so wired didn't get to bed until 1. But obviously still too wired; only got three hours sleep tonight. Lol

I've watched the goals over and over again too. Can't sleep, got hockey on my mind.

Good morning :) I have not yet made it to bed, but I'm typically a late night person. It's just so much fun to read everything and take in a big win like that. The best part is I'm still just psyched we pulled off the series, tomorrow I'll realize we have at least 4 more games to watch this gifted club play for us, and then I'll realize it's against the Ducks, and then it will hit me that we actually have a shot and pushing further... It's a far cry from being down 3 and worried I may need to enroll in golf lessons.

:handclap::handclap::handclap:

I literally watched the end of that game and all the goals 4 times. Toffoli and Kopi's gave me tingles every time. This team looks like they are just warming up...

You know this is the type of win and comeback that can propel a team to do anything. It's kind of scary to think we have the 2012 mojo. But im just really excited for Game one. I hope we smoke them the first game and build on that.

I still can't wrap my brain around that we have to continue playing. I am on a "pay as we play" plan and my credit card will once again take a beating, as we move through the playoffs. After game 3, I figured well we will have an early exit now I will get a chance to upgrade my seats next season, but I can see that's not gonna happen. Well, take the good with the bad...I agree with you, we now have an excellent shot at going very deep again this season. The difference is we are really going to have to beat some incredible competition this season, but we knew that going into the playoffs.

I fully expect we have to go through not only San Jose and Anaheim, but also Chicago and Boston. I don't think Minnesota has a chance against Chicago with their goaltending issues and I can't see any of those Leastern pretenders getting past Boston this season.

Agreed on both. I keep feeling that 2012 spirit coming on but hafta keep reminding myself, one game at a time. Really looking forward to a strong game 1 against the Ducks. Especially because Ducks fans will be Ducks fans and somehow not feel threatened even though they've seen what we just did.

The road will be tough this year. We will have our hands full with Anaheim like we did with San Jose. The competition definitely looks strong all over, but that's good because if we can take it this year it won't be considered flukey ;)

As much as I'm all for saving funds, I do hope your credit card gets hit twice more this year.

I'm just letting myself be ecstatic for the night (now morning), tomorrow will be when the real fun thoughts start to creep in.

Not exactly what you requested, but its first up on YouTube.

Those CBC guys are good. Thanks for posting that, Ron.

ETA: if you are looking for more reading, I recommend heading over to the Edmonton Oilers board and reading their Around the League thread Playoffs Edition 2, last page. Nice comments about the Kings.

what a team . 2 of our most talented in Gaborik and Carter were fairly quiet and these are those rare types who can win you a game like this with a moment of individual brilliance. The team was great tonight. Mike Richards was on fire - the first ten minutes he was in everything and set the tone for the game. Then his crucial block at the end. Unlucky not to score as well. Muzzin was fantastic. Amazing to think Drew, Slava , Martinez and Muzzin will only keep getting better for years yet. Kopitar and Toffoli with brilliant finishes. Big raps also to Lewis and Stoll who are relentless - great at hounding the opposition on the penalty kill and when we rest our scorers

Awesome game, still feeling buzzed and giddy. Do you think this bodes well for Gaborik to resign with this team. They pull something like this off, tight team who believes in each other. Man you sure think he would want to keep playing for the Kings. Thoughts?

I think Gaborik has gelled with Kopitar. TBH, he didn't have much value before we traded for him and it doesn't look like he's missed a beat since coming to LA. He knows his best shot at "resurrecting" so to speak, his career would be to stay here

I'm sure Lombardi had that on his mind when he traded for him. Staying in LA would depend on what Gabby and his agent want in terms of length and money. I don't think DL wants to commit to longer than 3 years, given Gabby's age and injury history. And Gabby has to realize he won't do better than playing in LA on a team this good, with talent and outstanding leadership who put the team first and if healthy should be perennial contenders. So I think Gabby will do the right thing.

That's the advantage of winning the Cup with such a young core. Players like Muzzin, Pearson and Toffoli and whoever else comes up in the pipeline in the near future are going to be exposed to a level of confidence and leadership they'd never get elsewhere. That's how the elite teams continue their success for long stretches. You pick up things from Doughty, Kopi, Quick, Richards etc., and add it to your game.

Probably the best thing I've seen on this site.

My thoughts:

First and foremost, I didn't think there was a chance in hell they were coming back when down 3-0. I thought they might make it interesting but that is a tough hill to climb. I'm a fairly optimistic but given how bad they were shelled in the first two games and the Kings road record against SJ, it was hard to be optimistic. That brings me to my second thought...

Man, I feel bad for San Jose Sharks fans. I couldn't and don't even want to be mean to them. For the most part, I've had good encounters with them on here and in public. There have been a few times when I wanted to strangle them but one of those was at game 3 last year where the Kings came back in the last 3 minutes so that was sweet revenge. But it makes me wonder what is really wrong with the Sharks. I guess you have to really look at Joe Thornton and Marleau. But beyond them, you have the look at the GM that has seen results like this time in and time out and sticks with his guys. It is almost like the GM has made excuses for them by continually moving other parts in and out including coaches. Now it is too late to hold them accountable.

For the past few season (including the cup run) I just wanted the Kings to make it out of the first round. I've never been as anxious as I was last night except for in Game 6 of the Finals. I told myself I wouldn't care if the Kings got swept in the next round if they beat the Sharks but now that they are playing the Ducks, that can't happen! I just hope it is a good series. And of course, it will be nice if the Kings can win it.

These past 5-6 seasons really have made up for most of the years post Frenzy on Figueroa. From such lows to such highs. Incredible.

Kings are playing with House Money if you ask me.

I don't care what happens next round, they made history round one.
