“We haven’t shown San Jose the team we can be yet in this playoffs, just little flashes of it,” Drew Doughty said. “They’re going to have it tonight.”

God damn I'm pumped.

People can say what they want about Drew, but the fact remains, the bigger the game, the better he plays. He thrives on the big stage. It's a shame that he isn't 100%.

Mitchell's quote regarding his infectious love for the game is on display in quotes like that.

Love Doughty's candor and enthusiasm. I just worry that somewhere down the line he will just be providing bulletin board material

I had more hope of a comeback in 2002 against Detroit. I think that is the right year.

Frenzy on Figueroa happened in 2001, especially when Detroit won it all in 2002.

Back on topic, I met a fellow Kings fan after this past Sunday's Watch Party and even will attend a Kings game on her birthday.

I'll do likewise on my own birthday.

According to Rosen he assumed both Nolan and Pearson would draw in and Toffoli, Fraser and Clifford would sit.

Sitting Toffoli would be ludicrous...he should be in the top 6.

you can see he had 8 goals in a 15 game stretch early in the season. This is when he was top 6.
He then went a few games without a goal and was removed from top 6, never to be given top 6 minutes again, for more than a game!
He flat out scores when given the top 6 minutes. See game log from Nov early Dec.

Really, they kicked our ass all over the ice up in San Jose, you think the Sharks need to resort to bulletin board material at this point? :) I just hope Drew and the whole freaking team put their money where their mouth is..

I blame myself for game 2. Missed the 1st period due to Game of Thrones and Silicon Valley, so I didn't see the Kings goals.

Saw all 7 of San Jose's goals though.

I won't be home tonight, so not watching the game. It's the best I can give the Kings as a fan.

Don Cherry had some interesting analysis regarding game 2, namely the 5 on 3 pointing out that San Jose had all 5 of their top offensive players on the ice up 6-2 with 10 minutes to go and it was after the score that Quick went over to the bench to say something to the team.

He also made note of how the Kings left the ice with Quick giving everyone a pat and being the last one off the ice regardless of the score. Said he's the true leader there, but that doing what the Sharks did on the 5 on 3 is meat for the Kings to chew on.

I didn't really pay attention to who was on the ice for the Sharks, but if that's true, I can see it being some fuel.

Don Cherry seems to be in love with Quick though. lol

He's been a turnover machine and has helped spring the Sharks for many great chances. Williams is another one of many players who isn't the same player as he was a year or two ago. Now he's another aging player with diminishing skills.

Anyway some food for thought if you can catch that little Don Cherry clip(maybe Kingsvision can get on it for us ;) ).

I'm off until after the game. Go Kings!

Well...that'd be great but id like EVERYBODY to show up tonight considering how the first 2 games went. Other than a few, its tough to pin the way this team is getting smoked on just 2 players....

They are the two leaders on this team that have been non-existent this year.

When two leaders step up in a big game, it's infectious.

This team needs that boost.

EVERYONE needs to show up, but those two especially.
