Big Game Story: PDSF’s Round 1, BATTLE CALIFORNIA. A Stanley Cup Playoffs matchup that was expected to be tight has been anything but so far, but the Los Angeles Kings will attempt to regroup on home ice while the San Jose Sharks try to claim a stranglehold on their Western Conference First Round series. Just about everything has gone as well or better than could be expected for the Sharks to this point in the series. They've lit up one of the best goaltenders in the NHL and torched the stingiest team for 13 goals in two games. San Jose did lose the faceoff battle in Game 2, but the Sharks struck for several counterattack goals. They've also trailed the Kings in hits in each of the first two games, but that's not a statistic either team is paying much attention. There are several areas where the Kings need to be better, but they also have to be able to shrug off what was an embarrassing defeat in Game 2. San Jose was able to run up the score in the third period, and Los Angeles took several penalties out of frustration. Coming back to Staples Center, where the Kings have defeated the Sharks eight straight times including all four contests in the 2013 playoffs, will give the team a chance to hit the reset button and try to get back into this series. KINGS need to remind SHARKS, KINGS FANS and THEMSELVES which team just won a Stanley Cup Championship in 2012. GO KINGS GO !!!

- UPCOMING WCSF PLAYOFFS SCHEDULE -
2014WCQFScheduleRnd1Gm3_zps57e10a56.png

NOTE : Regarding LARGE SIZE IMAGES / YELLOW RE-SIZE IMAGE BARS ABOVE PICS, let me offer up one nice little suggestion ...
This will get rid of those pesky yellow resize bars over the top of some larger pictures ... as they annoy the hell out of me and maybe they do you also ?
- Go into/click on your "USER CP" {control Panel} up top left in the red bars
- on the left under 'Settings & Options' click on "Edit Options"
- scroll down to 'Thread Display Options', and then 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- click on the 'Drop Down List Box' over on the Right of 'Please Select the Resize Mode'
- select it to "KEEP ORIGINAL SIZE"
- SAVE your selections !
There ... now don't that look MUCH BETTER

The best part about hitting the bottom is there's only one way to go from there!!!!!

I don't expect the players to roll over, but there's no denying that there's been very little to be confident about coming back home.

Those 2nd periods kill the Kings. Still pretty damn impressive that the Sharks have so far made what the Hawks did to the Kings last year look like nothing. Rather see the Kings plays Chicago.

What's done is done. Sharks won 2 games at home. Protect home ice, no matter how boringly they have to do it, and who knows what can happen.

I tend to agree to some opinions, Jones should start today. With such shaky defense we currently have, stay in the crease style of Jones should work better.
Agressive style of Quick works while the D is close enough to opposition and don't let open shots.

The players know this is a must win game. I'm expecting a full 60 minute game tonight. If I'm wrong well....

Clifford, Greene, Fraser, Toffoli stayed out for extra work. Likely one of them will play, others scratched.

Does that mean Pearson and Nolan are in?

:baghead:

As a longtime Kings fan, it is really difficult for me to be objective about this series. However, the level-headed me has a very succinct view on this. If we win, we deserve to win. If we lose, we deserve to lose and Dean will need to figure out a way to make us relevant again. It sucks as a fan to have to go through this, but we've seen this kind of thing with teams like Chicago, Boston, Detroit, etc..

I will be extremely upset if we don't see 60 minutes efforts from the Kings in both home games. To me, that really reflects on a bigger problem within the team that would require changes. The biggest concern to me right now is leadership. Richards set the tone in the Vancouver series in 2012 by laying a couple big hits. Brown did the same. We are not seeing any of that this year. The team really feeds off of that kind of energy.
