I don't give a **** what Fox says about how good the Kings forecheck was, or how it was the best period off the series...they gave up 3 goals and the lead and that's not a good period in anybody's book.

You mean the D that won the Jennings trophy?

Ron, I usually agree with you but the Jennings is kind of a smokescreen. Our system promotes defense, our goalie is top 3 and with players like Kopitar, Carter and even Lewis sacrificing offence to take care of our end I think our D'men have it easier then most.

I agree we have to move Greene but I said that during the season. Guy has lost whatever he had. He's got his Cup and he needs to move on.

11/7 isn't the answer, not with Greene coming into the lineup. For game 3 would like to see us go back to 12/6 and get Nolan back in for a bruising 4th line. But really you guys, each series is a 7-game series and the West is loaded with home ice wins. 7-0 going into this game.

Oh, and case you haven't noticed, the Sharks are a hell of a team.

We must have short memories around here, but the Kings usually don't have good 2nd periods.

There's still 20 minutes left and I'll take down 3-2 to down 5-0. It's progress and it's a series. This isn't football. It's not over even if the Kings lose today.

Do you think every other team going home for game 3 down 0-2 is finished?

The overwhelming majority of them, yes

Matt Greene 9:44 TOI and -3
JQ .846 save in this series
Countless number of line changes

Basically tells the story

Sutter's decisions from the start of this series have been just horrible. refuses to play a rookie, yet dresses 7 f'ing defensemen. Brilliant.

By doing what exactly? Please tell me in detail what Dean has to do in the off-season.

I'll even give you a crutch...All the GMs in the league will agree with any moves he proposes.

Let Greene and Mitchell go, and get younger on the back end. Too many geriatrics playing defense. Upgrade the defense. And find a new 2c.

Who said this has to be through trades?

Only kind of trade that the Kings should be looking for is a 2C. Or a left winger.

And let McNabb / Bodnarchuk /Gravel are going to be coming up sooner than later so it's not worth trading for a stud defenseman. Unless it's reasonable price.

Basically, get younger, and faster.

If you haven't noticed, the D-men have been active ALL GAME LONG deep inside the O-zone. That is why we are giving up so many odd-man rushes. But it IS BY DESIGN.

Richie has to much pride and hopefully will recommit to fitness this offseason.

I love Richie, but how long has he been in the NHL? I honestly don't see him changing his working habits. He takes short shifts compared to most of his teammates, so i believe he does have a conditioning problem.

5 periods now for Mike Richards without even recording a shot.

If Sutter really wants to send a message, bench Richards and Williams for game 3, put Vey and Pearson back in.

I'd still keep Brown and Voynov. Anyone else and I could honestly care a less at this point.

I trade Voynov if we land a Staal type to pair with Drew. Muzzin will progress and Martinez is out of the doghouse. DL brought in a young cannon at the deadline, something must be up.

Quick is ****ing terrible.

From what I've gathered in this thread these are the players likely to stay if everyone had their way...

That's not retooling. That's a ****ing rebuild.

You guys need to chill.

If I didn't know better I'd be 100% certain we were down 6-2 and that this was the 3rd or 4th game of being destroyed.

Positive vibes people

I wouldn't play Rookies either, Toffoli looks over matched all over the ice.

The Defense is what is costing this Team the series so far. SJ is shredding the Kings.

Throw some names out there. I said be specific. It's all so damn clear to you so you've obviously thought about this.

Who do they trade for? Who replaces who from Manchester?

If the philosophy is wrong, what should the philosophy be? Don't say "win."

Losing hope rapidly. LA looks like a team that is letting the series slip away. San Jose capitalizing on some puck luck but they look hungry. Better come out with a monster third.

Kings will be fine, the core is still good and pretty young.

Mitchell and Greene are gone, that is $6.5 in freed space. The #7 spot is occupied by a rookie making no more than 925k and the rest is used to pay the much needed 2nd pair defenseman the Kings need.

Up front, Richards is for sure gone. That is almost $6 mill in space. Carter slides over to center, Toffoli moves to 2nd line rw. I believe Pearson is most likely traded for that defenseman and the Kings sign a very good lw in free agency to play with Carter and Toffoli.

Just those couple of common sense moves have this team back to contending next season, IMO.

Actually, from what I've read in this thread, its more like this:

They not only need to chill, they need to go root for the Sharks or the Ducks.

McNabb is the only one that (might) be ready. And Bods is not in the Kings future plans.

Gravel will need a Full season in the AHL.

Let's get real too. The King's are replacing vets with rookies who have yet to play an NHL game. ****, it'll be the same problem, but on the other end of the spectrum.

There are really only a few red alarm concerns. Unfortunately those concerns are in positions where we need impact players, so naturally, they're going to be amplified and made more obvious against a very good team like this one.
