No its not. Chevy was with the Blackhawks organization then and was responsible for their IHL affiliate where Pavs was the goalie.

Pavs never played in the IHL! The IHL ceased to be a top minor league in 2001!

The IHL ceased operations in 2001. Pavelec played for the Chicago Wolves in the AHL, who were affiliated with Atlanta. Chevy was the GM there before he worked for the Blackhawks.

Okay...either way, Chevy was the GM where Pavs was the goalie. Clearly I got the teams mixed up.

That's not accurate , the comment was " they won a championship together "

Sorry. I'm in a room with loud-talking people. Whatever the wording, what I'm interested in is whether or not Chevy and Pavs' IHL experience together is component of Chevy's "loyalty" to Pavelec.

Surely Chevy is a little more nuanced in his thinking than this.

Down by the bay
Pavs has been very solid.

SSW kickin butt and takin' names.

Lowry isn't as effective offensively as Little between Ladd and Fro (duh), but is performing his defensive duties well.

We're on this win streak against playoff teams (some top contenders) without Perry, Little or Buff. That's impressive.

It would at least explain Chevy's strange loyalty to Pavs.

Myers and Stafford (even if it's inly a few months) for Kane and Bogo.... Ignore all the other added pieces... What a joke of a trade. I actually feel bad for Buffalo and I dislike that team. Unbelievably lopsided, I don't care what anyone says. A franchise calibre player and a clutch guy down an important stretch, for what?

Kane hasn't even played a game yet for Buffalo. Buffalo obviously didn't make the trade for this season. When all is said and done, I bet the trade comes out as pretty even.

sportsclubstats.com % chance for playoffs, based on number of pts in remaining games:

PTS|W|L|OT|% Chance
98|6|4|0|99.3
|5|3|2|99.1
|4|2|4|98.8
97|5|4|1|96.2
|4|3|3|95.4
|3|2|5|94.5
96|5|5|0|87.9
|4|4|2|86.4
|3|3|4|84.6
|2|2|6|83.2
95|4|5|1|70.6
|3|4|3|68.3
|2|3|5|65.3
94|4|6|0|48.4
|3|5|2|45.8
|2|4|4|43.7

5-3-2 for an almost locked chance at a spot at 98pts. Even 97 and 96 give us a very good chance, and 96 only requires that we go 5-5-0.

Go Jets!

Sweet so we can play .500 hockey and make it in? I would take that

What we are seeing from Brighteyes right now is what I thought he would be. He wasn't getting the goals early in the year but he was doing everything right. I believe he was focusing more on the defensive side of the game (because that's really important in today's NHL) and didn't have that goal scorers confidence where I post becomes a goal; where a shot in tight goes off the heel instead of the sweet spot; where it's just a fraction of a second late or early on a chance, but I knew he'd get there.

He just did everything too right to not be successful as a point producer. He just makes so many right plays to keep the puck going that it has to inevitably "happen" for him.

I have said this before and I'll keep saying it: Brighteyes is on the same trajectory as Ryan Johansson.
