He sucks.
Judging from results at the post half way point Sweeney clearly prevailed on the trade.

Zacha: 51 GP, 11G, 24A 35 Tot.
Haula: 49 GP, 4G, 17A, 21 Tot.

Figure in Pavel's age (26) vs Haula (31) and his reasonable contract there's no doubt he is the more valuable. Zacha has also shown his defensive responsibilities in a positive way.

As for his recent goal scoring prowess, I noticed that he was well set up from his line mates to make the play. Of course, you have to read the play and get in to position to score.

I love Zacha. Brandon Carlo sucks.

Zacha ranks 8th on the team in attempted shots with 137 behind Pastrnak (445), Bergeron (298), Hall (217), Lindholm (208), Marchand (208), DeBrusk (162), and Coyle (156).

Zacha ranks 7th at 60.6% at getting his shot on net behind Frederic (68.3), DeBrusk (67.3), Nosek (66.2), Greer (65.4), Foligno (62.0), and Coyle (61.5).

Frederic, with just 101 attempted shots and Zacha should both be shooting more.
Pastrnak said Zacha has the best shot on team a couple of weeks ago around when signed extension and he’s scored at a nice pace since

DeBrusk last 78 games 37 goals I believe and Zacha sudden up tick I’m loving this 2015 draft

Zacha heats up in the final third of the season. FYI.

Almost every season conistently (minus last year). It was a running theme on our boards for some time.

Whatever the reason it is... He just gets into a rhythm from feb onwards. Will see if it holds up on the Bruins.
He is going to get bettter? Damn.

I am not sure if he can become the 2C but he is really solid and doesn't make many mistakes. So even if there is no upside and he just keeps playing the way he plays now that would be a good contract.

As long as Zacha keeps working on his game to game consistency, this will be a steal of a trade and extension by management. He's showing off his top 10 1st round talent right now and has been a pleasure to watch out there. The kid has found his groove.

Love this kid, he is a keeper. I am pretty sure, that being around Bergeron, Krejci and Marchand helps him a lot and was a blessing for his development.

Haula for Zacha

I liked the move at the time, but boy there is just no comparison now

Not only does Zacha have better offensive talents than Haula, he’s physically far more dominant. I barely noticed haula when he didn’t actually have the puck on his stick and do something with it. I notice Zacha every shift he takes

Don sweeney is a pretty good GM

Sweeney's track record with trades is extremely good. He gets a lot more value out of dealing draft picks than making draft picks.

Haula is a typical above-average journeyman. He's good for what he is, and I like the guy's game.

Zacha was an underperforming youngish high draft pick with ceiling left, who was already better than Haula at the time of the trade.

Just seemed like it wasn't working for Zacha at NJ, so I understand why NJ traded him even though it was a bit lopsided at the time. No-brainer move for DS.

Where DS gets an absolute ton of credit is the re-signing. Was able to get Pavel to sign at a time when the goals weren't coming but everything else was clicking well. Now that the goals are coming the deal looks incredible. Went from 7% s% to 13.8 s% since the signing. To have a producing 6'4" middle-6 forward below $5M over the next 4 years with a rising cap is a steal. All of that is assuming Zacha either maintains his current level or progresses even further, but I don't see why that won't happen.

I'm with you -- Zacha is noticeable every shift. Fun player to watch.

If this is real this is might be most impressive thing I’ve ever seen here (I believe it’s legit)
it’s the real deal baby I was big on zacha in his draft year

i was also hopefully eriksson would turn it around which he did partially but not close to dallas level
