I said this summer that it all depends on Garand. If he's a solid NHL goalie by next year and can handle 40 games, then you have to at least have a conversation.

Quick at most has two years left after this one.

I'd get creative and trade K'Andre Miller. You could get someone really really good in a hockey trade.

Less good but still good if you dump Schneider. I don't think Lindgren returns an upgrade on a chytil at RW experiment so I'd just keep him.

Why? Based on their play, at a minimum they should be sharing the crease 50/50. If Quick wasn't 37 & fatigue not a concern, he has a legit claim to be the outright starter.

I think they need to decide between Miller and Lindgren. Would prefer if they did it at the deadline, but it will probably longer.

If they want a cheap RW, would see if SJ wants to sell high on Zetterlund. Might cost a first but the Rangers are in win now. Cheap contract, helps team speed, and the overpay to get him out of there is balanced out by the Devils fans heads exploding if he succeeds in NYC

It doesn’t depend on Garand. You can get a goalie back in a trade. Garand is irrelevant. Quick honestly irrelevant too; no one expecting that’s a long term answer. You just go year to year

Yeah that was maybe the game right there. That one gets by Quick and LA has absolutely all of the momentum and the game probably gets away from us.

There is no acquisition for a RW to be made for a variety of reasons (mostly cap). Mika/Kreider can make up for any defensive lapses, they're rarely scored on.

And this is why Mika and Kreider are always a thing. They really bottle up the opponent. More scoring would be great and will eventually be needed but for now they’re a coach’s safety blanket.
