Mayo said way too much.

I get that he wanted to be a player's coach and friendly to the media in contrast to his predecessor.

Starting with "We're going to burn cash in free agency." through calling the team soft, or even saying they were going to start Antonio Gibson and then starting Stevenson.

We know that in the past those conversations would have been "We're going to do what's best for our football team." and "I've got to coach it better. We've got to execute better."

There has to be a different approach that maintains a level of professionalism and integrity without looking like a horse's ass in the process.

Makes them look petty and, as usual, overly sensitive and highly defensive.

This organization is not in a good place and hasn't been for a few years now. The only reason they have hope to fix anything is Drake Maye.

The optimist in me says Vrabel is the leader in the clubhouse, but the lead's not so insurmountable that someone else couldn't beat him out.

The cynic in me says an organization known for being cheap is simply using other interviews as a negotiating tactic to keep Vrabel's price down.

Don't need to use every single cap dollar on a losing season. But, should have invested in helping the QB, thus improve OL and add weapons. Unlike the NHL, you can carry forward cap space in the NFL. See how aggressive they will be after seeing what Maye can do. No excuses for not spending in 2025.

Not improving the line was indefensible considering your rookie QB might end up starting at some point.

I can even entertain an argument that firing him at all is bush league move. First time head coach, terrible roster. It's one thing for fans calling for firings but Kraft just looks so bad and inept for firing Mayo after one season given the BS he spewed in introductory press conference.

The only thing I would say to Mayo is he sorta stabbed Bill in the back and now he knows how it feels. His only coaching connection was Belichick. Very curious to see where he lands. Given how bad defense was I think he's starting as a co DC at best somewhere and a good chance he has to start as LB coach. Or maybe he tries media/return to Optum.

Kudos to Everett Mike who was a champion to draft Drake Maye who looks like a star.

You can make a convincing argument it's the single worst pick Belichick ever made because the mistakes with the pick went far beyond the player he took.

We can rarely get Belichick right and often it’s wild with perfect player for need falling into lap and he trades back

I'm surprised Jonathan Kraft or his father didn't make abundantly clear to Mayo that the game should be thrown, gently and elegantly.
