Edmonton would be funny as hell. Can you imagine if Babcock does get the job trying to coach him?
Only ''fun thing'' in Laine from Oilers would be to get see
how fast McDavid and Draisaitl gets pissed on Laine's abysmal defense in 5v5.

Oilers have ousting one defensive liability in Nurse they have two left in Bouchard and Ekholm.
So oilers don't need ''new'' third defensive liability in Laine especially now when the're finally getting rid of Nurse.

We have already one defensive liability in Ekblad so NO THANK YOU.

Laine isn't a defenseman, but for a winger he plays at least average defensive game, if not above average.

You don't get to play in team Finland if you don't know how to play your position in defensive end. It's a requirement for everyone, no exceptions.

Laine started being the last forward to leave defensive zone and being the first one back in Jets already, and developed as a two way player in jackets, to the point they were going to use him as #1 center starting the season that turned out to be his last in Columbus. Injuries ruined that.

The "defensive liability" moniker is just a result of years and years of ignorant posts, looking at some advanced stats to try and sell the narrative. He's no worse defensively than any other wingers who are offensively as productive as him. He's not a great defensive forward, but he backchecks and plays his defensive position in the D zone. Obviously his best attributes are in offense.

For Florida this would be a complete non issue, as they have centers who have played successfully with Laine before (Barkov, Lundell, Luostarinen) and all are known for their defensive game. The L-L-L line worked really well in 4 nations, and Laine/Barkov have played great together before and they are very good friends

Holy f***ing macaroni.
Laine and Barkov are friends that was a news to me :D:D
But still NO THANK YOU for Laine we don't need injury prone defensive liability who's one trick pony.

Especially Juolevi was just denied by injuries from early on.
I remember reading his work ethic was terrible. Have heard the same thing about Laine and EP40 (as of a couple years ago).

When you have a rep for not putting in the strength and conditioning work, I think that’s a separate category of “derailed by injuries” from a guy like Nolan Patrick.

McJesus and Drai ccan't comment anything on anyones defense since their defense is also 404 :D

A short term prove it deal which he fails to use as a chance to prove himself and fades into the sunset as his ego won't let him play anywhere else but the NHL.

I don't think any team should offer him a contract sight unseen. Tell him to get in shape and come to camp and we'll see how you do.
