He should be scoring even more when he has better 5 on 5 linemates.LAINE SCORED 8 OF HIS 9 GOALS PROVIDED BY HUTSON'S ASSISTS
Of course many of the same whiners didn’t want Laine in the first place. Projects, underdogs, “low-risk high-reward”, bargains, waiver gems, diamonds in the rough — that’s the sort of players this fanbase is into.Gotta love the double standard.
Give Dach 40 games to get back in shape.
Blame Laine even strength production although he is almost PPG coming back from LTIR
Yup the minute we see him getting quicker in puck possession the more those moves will result in SOG's. Two or three times he looked like he was in perfect position to let fly but it closed on him before he could react. That WILL change provided he can play games.
His contract is up in 2026.
It's funny to dismiss a PPG forward with a truly legendary shot as a one-trick pony when 1) we haven't had a PPG forward since Kovalev in 2008 and 2) our second line would otherwise be two bozos and a bust (or is it two busts and a bozo?).
Ridiculous post. If Laine is like a Bergeron, then so are Suzuki and Caufield.
Laine already has 4 seasons where he paced for 50+ EV pts.
This season is the first time in their career that Suzuki and Caufield are on pace for that.
You can tell he's a bit bothered by a lack of ES points. Laine is very focused on proving he's a legit star, and he doesn't want to be a PP merchant only. Loved his hits last night, and it looks like he's in slightly better shape conditioning wise. Maybe a good thing to sit out for so long?
Yup — precisely why the trade was a no brainer and every prescient fan knew it was a great acquisition. I’m so glad Hughes saw what some of us saw and so glad Hughes didn’t think it was too important to “leave a spot” for Joshua fkn Roy in the Habs top6.Alright then, we will have plenty of time to watch what he can do until his contract is up.
What is that logic. Suz and CC have producing at even strength since the beginning of the year.
All I'm saying is calm down before going nuts with the $$$. We only have had a small sample.
and was essentially PPG in columbus despite a bad situation, and playing C at times. He's greatSo you're just going to ignore what Laine did in the past and only look at his performance after a major injury and having missed a whole year? Laine has played 500 NHL games, we have a huge sample size to determine the kind of player he is.
He should be scoring even more when he has better 5 on 5 linemates.
Hopefully Dach will get better, and Demidov replaces Newhook in the top 6 next year.
Yeah, neither of the three seem to be very good defensive players. It's sort of risky to have them all on a line.I think Laine has been bad 5 on 5, turns it over a bunch, which is to be expected since his long layover. But to only blame Dach and Newhook is dishonest. They're all equally bad.
