Demidov is not a center. You would think we’d learn from past experiences. I hope to god this isn’t what management is hoping for.
Yeah pretty much what @Jurivan Demidovsky said.

If they want to try him at C they can do it and I can all but guarantee it won’t derail him.

He’s pretty much a plug and play superstar. He’s not Drouin. They can put him in net for half a season and his first game back as a forward I’d doubt he’d miss a beat

What a bunch of quotes by laine wow.

I was tired of losing and just giving up when it’s December to start focusing on next year. I’m not going to do that. That’s frustrating as a player when you’re trying to win and some people are, you know, not like that.

“They’re a little too satisfied and too comfortable where they’re at. It wasn’t really a fit for me anymore. But here (in Montreal), it doesn’t matter if we’re winning or losing, we’re always trying our best“

“I’ll leave that for everybody’s imagination,” Laine said. “But there were certainly, certainly people like that who were a little too comfortable and fine with losing and just doing the same thing year after year”

“If we win, we’re going to jump them,” Laine said. “That’d be awesome to leave them behind.”

This is why a winning attitude is so important. Winning is important. The rebuild is nearing its end.

As much as I appreciate his unfiltered comments, he needs to tone it down if he wants to have a drama free existence in this market.

He will get away with this one because it's Columbus.

I don’t know if he’s a center or not. Neither do you. I’ll leave it up to him and mgmt to figure it out. He’s said he likes playing center better than wing so who knows?

If he can play there, the. I’m all for it. If Markov can move from forward to D….
Big Buff too! Went from D to F to back to D.

He was a specimen tho...

Really annoyed by his pre-game comments. Premature and inconsiderate. I think this kind of stuff will affect his life in NHL in the futute, also within the current team. He lost a lot of points in my eyes tonight.

Now let's hope he's not (seriously) injured and he can learn something out of this.

I understand he wanted to create some stories for the game and fire himself up. But not sure it was that great of an idea, clearly didn’t turn well.

He's a brutally honest person and he's going to stand by his comments. Maybe in hindsight he shouldn't have made them before the game, but I bet you there's plenty of truth to it. Werenski can go ahead and explain CLB's brutal record all those seasons because Laine's story certainly checks out.

And if anyone is actually paying attention, PL chose his words carefully. It wasn't even about the end results, it was about the attitude and approach that didn't fit Laine's attitude. Note how he said Montreal tries to win every night and that mentality is what is important. Laine isn't looking for a easy route or a quick fix, but he doesn't want to waste seasons on a roster that doesn't have everyone pulling on the same rope.

A bullshit win by the BJs tonight doesn't disprove anything that Laine said.

I am a fellow Finn, and would like Laine to do well. That being said he has been already traded twice, and the way he left Winnipeg was somewhat similar to him leaving Columbus. He was not happy and wanted a trade. Hope he's able to get along with teammates and coaches in Montreal better and longer than with his former teams.

I seriously doubt he got hurt and I think it was just some of the same wussy cat stuff we saw in preseason when we refused to play any regulars vs Ottawa in the last game

I think Laine was referring to the fact that Columbus was clearly trying to "tank" during his stay there, in order to get a better draft pick. He didn't really come across too well with his statements, but it does screw with a guy mentally when the management does not want you to win, and are actively setting barriers to prevent you from winning, like trading away good players, and bringing up people who are clearly not NHL ready, and probably never will be.

Laine should know by now though that it's unfortunately just a part of the game.

I joined the game late and went looking to see when/how he was injured.

Really? That was the "injury"?

Every time I think of him as a long term player and part of the rebuild, I get a reality check.

The absolute best result is for him next season to score a pile of goals and trade him for a kings ransom. This isn't a warrior that will help win CUPS.

Sorry...

There was no particular injury situation so I don't know what you are referring to.

I'm sure they'll update on it

Agreed but in Finland it's looked down upon if you try to bullshit people, our biggest legends are dudes like Kimi Räikkönen (F1 driver) who "kept it real" even at the expense of their career prospects at times.
Being immature and selfish like Patrick now and Kimi before his second marriage makes them "legends" for some Finns, you got that right.

What a braindead comment.

You think the team sat their hottest goal scorer for two periods because for no real reason in a game they lost by one? Unbelievably stupid comment.

People actually think he faked whatever injury he had last night. This guy has been all in with us since he came back. Man some of our fans.
