stop thinking about the Leafs man, this thread has nothing to do with them, going to the cup final and losing is nothing to brag about. something my boy Ricky Bobby would say if your not 1st your lastBoth teams are stuck in their glory years, except one hasn't done shit in 58 years. And one went to a cup final just 4 years ago. Now before you dismiss that accomplishment, we both know if the Leafs had gone to the cup, Toronto would have held celebrations for 6 months, and several what if documentaries would've already been produced on par with the leafs 1993 "achievement".
In terms of cities, that's a low blow and speaks more to both your insecurities and ignorance.
I'm not going to get into a pissing contest about both cities.
I spend a lot of time in Toronto for work and really like the city.
1976? You referencing the Olympics? not entirely sure your point, but you rarely have - or have never visited Montreal.
Montreal is still a great city, regardless of Legault's stupidity.
Not unlike Doug Ford's idiocy.
Anyway back to Patrik Laine. Good trade by Hughes.
Hopefully see you in the playoffs. That would be fun
Its just entertainment with rivalries all this means literally nothing. fact is a Canadian team hasn't won in like 30+ years now, we are all equally pathetic.
Montreal is an awesome place unlike 75% of their fanbase from my experience.
Laine also isn't all that, there's a reason why CBJ paid Laine + 2nd for Jordan Harris..... he's a ticking time bomb before most the fanbase turns on him.
but yes I would agree it was a good trade for Hughes. even if he shits the bed MTL is getting a 2nd and a player with potential to bring even more was solid, I would be cautious on giving him a long term deal even if he plays as good as he has throughout his remaining contract. wouldn't go any higher than 3x
