It’s a nice stretch

Has anyone showed as much growth and progress as a long sustained healthy scratch as much as Jones?

He is playing with a ton of confidence and hit the ground running this stretch which is incredible considering how bad he looked earlier in the year and how long he hasn't seen game action.

Anyone ever think about guys like Bonino and Pitlick, who played most of the year but then poof, just gone, as if they never even existed. Pitlick, he didn't get to play in the Stadium Series, that must've really stunk. Trades are one thing, but "OK bye now" has to be worse no?

Went with three defenseman in a game with 5 goals.

Miller was everywhere today. Did a little of everything.

Jones was buzzing today. Up in the play, solid in his own zone, and just generating a ton.

Last goes to Lindgren. You know it is serious when he can't put any weight on it. Great pass to Cuylle. The large majority of the board, myself included, shit all over him, but I never see a lack of effort in his game. He deserves some recognition for that.

IMO Lindgren has some sort of hold on that dressing room, most likely because how much he sacrifices his body all game long, every game, to help the team win.

I truly hope it isn't serious.

I am assuming this isn't sarcasm but its coming. The ones coming up like Edstrom/Berard/Rempe/Sykora/Othmann will contribute to this team. They weren't rushed. Hartford is less toxic as well.
This has been Drury’s biggest success, and will pay the most dividends down the road.

Hartford isn’t a joke anymore, and our prospects are actually meeting /exceeding expectations at seemingly a much higher rate.

Take the 2 wins… great job on another part of a condensed schedule for this group.
- hope Lindgren is ok
-will Cuylle will be a 30 goal scorer by the time he’s 25 if he gets to play with talented linemates…
The kid always seems to go to the right places on the ice, good wheels for how big he is, and a very deceptive shot. Can’t believe we turned Lia’s into this Unicorn
- If laf was on 1 PP he’d have about 70pts right now. His wrister is filthy
- jones looked good again
- hopefully zibby can build on 2 solid efforts

It’s not only that. But Hartford is actually getting its players ready for the NHL….
All those years DET was a powerhouse, they would get and injury, call up a guy and he would fit seamlessly. It’s like they wouldn’t miss a beat……
You absolutely have to have your AHL team play the same system to what they run in the NHL. It gives players a tremendous advantage when their number is called to come up and help contribute.

They desperately need his offense. The playoffs last year featured a ton of blowouts and teams piling on goals to win games. Kakko/Laf goals in the 3rd today both came during sustained offensive zone shifts with Jones out there
Jones is just such a better fit for the roster and for the game that Laviolette wants to play.

Jones-Ruhwadel is a perfectly solid bottom pairing as long as the minutes are sheltered. A Gus-Jones pair worries me in road games.
