Sharp's decline started around the time he had his baby. He hasn't been the same player since, maybe injuries played a factor. That's when I really started to notice his decline. Not willing to battle on the boards as much. Not creating plays as much and stupid penalties.

He's still good and his resume is impressive.

If Hawks got a 1st and a decent prospect I would be jumping for joy. Roster player that is any good on this Hawks team is a stretch.

Sharp led the Hawks in scoring in 2013-14. What are you talking about re: his decline connected to his kids?

Just don't think he was the same player after he came back. Stopped creating plays and gained a ton of points off of empty net PP goals from Kane passes.

Goes missing for long stretches including the playoffs.

Doesn't make any sense bud. Connecting dots that aren't in the same universe.

What dots? You haven't noticed a decline in Sharp? Maybe just the bad just sticks out more for me. Too many good chances and fails to bury the shot. I was nervous with him on the empty net goal against Tampa.

For a season? One bad season is a "decline" now? He had 78 points last year.

He had a good season last year, and a decent one this year.
He is also pretty streaky.

But i also honestly believe the coaching staff asked him to do different things on the ice. If you go look at his shots this year, you'll see a huge drop off. And i think it was because of new faces on the PP and asking him to do more defensively.

Sharp to the Caps makes an awful lot of sense. Could probably get a 1st from them.

I think he goes to Washington. But Montreal and Florida are likely candidates as well. Washington (22nd overall) and Montreal (26th) have the 2015 1st in the right range, and Florida has some nice assets as well. Plus there's always their 2016 1st.

I'll be surprised if he goes anywhere else, but I'm sure there are other interested teams.

He had a good season last year, no doubt. There is a reason he is the most expendable Hawk and probably the 1st traded.

And that reason is that among the guys up to be traded, he'd command the biggest return and is the easiest to move - not because of his play, but because he'd be coveted around the league.

Assuming Sharp approves FLA, how about this:

Sharp and McNeill to FLA for #11

FLA benefits: Hurting for forwards; Sharp can mentor and bring winning pedigree. McNeill provides big body forward with untapped potential.

HAWKS then turn around and send 11 and Bickell to Winnipeg for their 2 1st round picks

I'm no NHL trade expert, but that sounds horrible for Winnipeg

When you move down to the 11 spot, you are getting a different level of player. Unless, you are referring to Bickell as an overall liability, then I would agree. Maybe Hawks throw in a 4th or something to sweeten the pot.

Nah, he's the most expendable on this team due to his cap hit. Saad IMO is already better than Sharp. Saad looks to me how Sharp did years ago.

Whatever, I liked Sharp but his time to move on has come. I think he will get a good return because guys like Versteeg, Brouwer got a good return. He should be able to fetch a 1st.

A lot of Detroit media are starting to buzz about Sharp getting looked at by the Wings.
