Goodrow has value...we're not paying anyone to take him off our hands. Especially if you saw that Jeannot return.
Your speculating on opinions and hearsay. What everyone knows for sure is Vancouver was the 3rd team by taking kravsov, kanes deal won't be announced until new york hits its magic cap number sometime between 5pm eastern tonight and 3pm eastern Friday.

Who and what's picks are going back to Chicago or what picks Chicago is trading away we won't know until the deal is published. Everyone is speculating and assuming.

Just because a player hasn't been sat or his salary is X doesn't mean he is not being traded.

Example McCabe wasn't sat and suddenly he was traded to Toronto. That's my point you can't assume anything about what teams are doing and the end results are drastically different

Jeannot makes 800k. Goodrow has 4 years left at 3.6 on a team that needs cap space to sign players. I like Goodrow, but Rangers will have to do more than just cap gymnastics for Kane.
We already did the gymnastics...the deal is done. If you're talking about retaining Kane after the season, that's a different conversation.

However, Goodrow doesn't have negative value...especially at the expense of a 1st rounder.

You make a excellent point, plus new york had to sit a couple of players to thread the needle to make this work.
Without knowing the mindset of both Gms and there end results for now and tge future nothing should be discounted

It's been blatantly obvious the Rangers weren't trading the Hawks a roster player for over a week now. Seems like you still are either in denial that it's happening or still pissed about the lack of a great return. Believe what you will, it's T-MINUS 3hrs & 17 minutes til you're fully enlightened.

Yes NY will only be allowed to serve Chicago style pizza for the remainder of Kanes deal, while Chicago must only serve NY style pizza.

Chicago got bent over.
Drury owns a pizzeria that serves pies 1/8th the thickness of that caserole crap you call pizza. He would rather give up 2 firsts for Kane than make that shitty pizza deal.

I won't stand for anyone taking that title away from me.
You're still the dumbest man on HFNYR if that makes you feel better.

Sounds like a crock of shit by Kane. "I only want to go to NY, good luck getting much of value."
Guy brought you three cups and has endured years of a strip down / rebuild. He wants to go somewhere with a chance to win again. As a fan, I'd take than any day of the week with an older player and an expiring contract. He owes chicago nothing.

I'm not talking about this season or for Kane. I was simply saying before that i'd easily include the first instead of a 2nd, if it meant we're adding Goodrow to get out of that cap that we're going to need going forward.

Wow you seem so sure about this. Again you don't know the full, picture of what each gm is working towards.. you assume new york is solely focused on March 3rd and this season without even thinking about next year and resigning anyone or possibly extending kane for 1 to 2 years . hope you're right however I suspect that everyone's going to be surprised.
For the record kane leaving Chicago and whatever return Kyle gets I won't be disappointed nor upset.

No chance that was ever a consideration. Again, Goodrow doesn't have negative value. And why worry about that now when we have no idea how the team is going to perform after the trade. Putting the cart way before the horse.

i might be the only ranger fan who doesn't want kane. we're not as heavy as we were last year, and we already have a washed ass mercenary RW with bread-history...

dolan pushing for it is icing on the cake. pass.

(hope i'm wrong!)

The full picture has been clear as soon as the Rangers traded Kravtsov to the Canucks. So not a week as I stated, but since Saturday at noon. I don't think there'e much surprise to be had here other than the prospect the Hawks get & if the pick is a 2nd or a 3rd. Feel free to mock me if I'm wrong.

I'm half in your boat. Rangers are a little softer than last year. Newer generation of hockey fans seem to think size and grit arent needed in the playoffs anymore. Skill will win it all..............so not true. On the other hand, I've watched Kane's last couple games and he seems to be able to flick the switch and turn it on still. Saw it a bunch when the team is playing well or making a come back. I think he's still got some left in the tank.

Enough to get the Rangers out of the east.................not too sure.

I haven't wanted Kane either, but if the return is a low as is being reported, this is a no-brainer move for the NYR.

Dude... I may be overvaluing our assets... but a sandwich from Katz is easily enough meat for 3-4 sandwiches.

If we're including one of those, we need more value coming back.

And the sour pickles are off the table. Untouchable.
This isn't Montreal smoked meat we're talking about.

Classic case of a fan base overrating their own prospects.
