Bergeron is one of the main reasons you expect something out of the Bruins that so many fans of other teams don't even expect from their team. If he was the failure that some are trying to sell, there would be nothing to be so violently let-down about.

Again, everyone is pissed and looking to affix blame.

It cannot be denied that Bergeron's injury and subsequent absence from much of the series had a major, detrimental effect on the Bruins and their opportunity to advance to R2.

To assert, as some have, that the entire collapse rests on Bergeron's shoulders is, of course, nonsense.

Was it a mistake to play the MTL game for "personal," sentimental reasons? Unfortunately, that appears to be the case.

However, if anyone knows anything at all about Patrice Bergeron, they know that he is demonstrably one of the most selfless, thoughtful and caring people on the planet.

Mr. Perfect is not perfect.

Who is?

Don't blame Bergeron.

Blame management for thinking that you could win using 37-year old centers like they were still 25.

Blame coaches for using 37-year centers like they were still 25.

Boston found out in this series what Pittsburgh learned a couple weeks ago. The golden era of those 2003-2006 drafts is over.

Remember getting in an arguemnet with a bartender at the Sligo who said they'd never win with with a goalie as old as Thomas. He also thought Chara didn't have it in him as captain.
