Awesome article. Very good read. Nothing he says surprised me. His actions on the ice do all the talking that is needed. The Bs are incredibly lucky to have him.

It was really hard to see Claude get let go in February. I learned a lot from having him as my coach these past few years. I don’t think I’d be the player I am today if it wasn’t for him. And I also know that we’ll always share a certain bond because of all the success we experienced together. And flat out, he’s a really great coach. So when he was let go, we knew it wasn’t a reflection of him so much as it was a reflection of how we were doing as a team. It was a wake-up call. We had to be more accountable. We had to be better players and better leaders.

And I’m proud of how we responded.

That pretty much says it all.

Some dumb ****ing Hawks fan on the main board wrote that Bergeron has no playoff resume to speak of. I guess he missed 2013 when Bergeron was the best in the league until the injury.

He must have missed his gwg in game 7 of the Finals in 2011 as well.

lol. Game 7 in the finals. Game 7 against Toronto.

Hell those two games alone outshine 99% of guys' playoff careers.

I grew up at the very end of Ray Bourque's career. He's probably the reason I'm a Bruins fan, and he was the reason I played defense and wore #77. One of my earliest memories is seeing him lift the Cup. Point being, he was always far and away my all time favorite.

Bergy has come very close, if not made it an outright draw. It is an absolute privilege to watch him play the game. The man is almost literally perfect. We are very lucky to have him, and very lucky that he also hates that nasty team from Quebec

With the smurfs
great article.

We are so lucky to have Bergeron on our team. No doubt #37 going to the rafter and into the HoF.

My family name is Bergeron. Makes me even prouder to be named like that.

He's everything you want a player to be and more.

Let's go Bergy. Lead us to victory! :handclap:

Good article. I suspect it was edited quite a bit...I don't know, some of that wording just didn't sound like it came from Bergeron. And I know Kirk has said in the past that his English was perfectly understandable when he interviewed him at the draft in 2003.

Don't get me wrong, I could easily read a novel about Bergeron. I just wonder about some of the content here.

But, I do believe he would play through anything, and I'm sure his teammates are well aware of that. Next captain for sure. :)

Great read. Loved the bits about fighting through injury in the SCF in 2013 and Marchand's chirping

Bergeron has been pissing me off lately. When he gets a chance in the slot I have zero confidence that he will score, and he has even been passing up good scoring opportunities, like when he unsuccessfully tried to drop the puck back to Marchand last game.

Why do people say things like this? Bergeron's wrist shot is mediocre, and I could go on. In terms of natural puck skill, he is visibly less talented than Krejci and Spooner. IMO, he's a second line talent with elite work ethic and hockey IQ.

The Canadian World Cup Hockey team, Canadian Olympic Hockey Team, and the vast majority of reporters and fans disagree with you.

Nice try at being edgy, though. Don't forget the pensive look as you observe your posts. Adds to the scene.

What does the World Cup team have to do with anything I said? And if "most fans" think Bergeron has as much natural puck skill as Krejci or Spooner they are dead wrong.
