I agree. The prospect pool is above average and much improve from when Hextall took over. With that being said it is extremely overrated by most here. If it were half as good as some people make it out to be the team wouldn't be in the mess they are in right now.

I've said it before, but Honk likely stays on for this season. Hopefully they bottom out and can get a top 5 pick, that might be the last piece we need to be a contender.

I would be willing to bet money he is not the coach to start next season though, because if he is this organization has problems.

Hextall for all of his faults and blind loyalty, was on his way to building a team set to compete as an upper tier club for years. Was building a team how one needs to in the modern NHL. How long did it take Chicago, and LA like Hextall alluded to?

Stop living in the past. The glory days and the bullies are long dead. Flyers are always behind the times, and the fans lack of patience is one of the biggest reasons.

We are not bottoming out. Fletch will be adding to the team....just enough so we are playoff tweeners again this year.

That is 100% your opinion and based on factual information there was very little to suggest that they would win a cup let alone multiple cups like those teams. What was that you said about blind loyalty?

Yeah, but people need to stop pretending like Hextall was not part of the problem. He brought in a bunch of prospects, and cleaned up the cap (see: did nothing), that is it. The fact that everyone is losing their mind and Fletcher hasn't even officially been named GM yet is proof of the over-reactions.

Fletcher probably takes the season to do evaluations, see which players/prospects to keep, which can be deemed expandable to improve the roster. If you think he is already dead set on keeping this coach after he hasn't seen this team play as GM yet, then you are delusional.

It does take that long though. If you do it right it does. Especially when you have to sell a fanbase on it by keeping some “stars” to begin with.
