I wonder if Greene's speech also doubled as his farewell speech. I dunno if its just me but it seemed like there was a hint of sadness in his tone.

the past few weeks i've been watching much of what both Greene and Mitchell do and thinking that. it is unfortunate, but it is part of the game, the team and the business of hockey.

players come and go, some beloved, most respected and a few hated. i think both guys will forever be greatly respected and loved by Kings fans regardless of what transpires this summer. personally i am grateful for the sacrifices and effort both guys have given this team in their time here.

Just got back from the parade/rally, it was amazing. I live in OC and I am glad I took the train, so much less of a hassle. The crowd was extremely lively and the presentations were very well put together. I am kind of bummed that they didnt hand out rally towels like they did last time.

From my experience, it seemed like Sutter got the loudest and longest ovation, does everyone else feel the same?

Definitely. He's gotten the loudest ovation at both rallies. Although, Mayor Garcetti's at the end of his speech was a very close second.

Just got back from the parade and rally and caught the first half of USA Ghana at LA Live. It was awesome. Sitting there I felt like a member of the Cult of the Kings. Everytime someone at the podium said something, I was like Amen! Sutter is an absolute rockstar without a doubt. Most beloved coach ever.

Futa and Solomon both should have got some of those Sutter cheers as well.

I thought so too when it happened. Especially Futa.

Luc sticking it to the experts who had a problem with our 2012 Cup. Nice.

That was a great moment. You could tell he really didn't like those "experts" opinion.

I guess the f-bombs are a cup tradition now in LA.

Let's hope we win at least another one to know for sure if it's a tradition. :yo:

I saw Rag fans bashing the amount of people at your parade and well, I had to laugh. They STILL bash on the 3 Devils parking lot rallies that we had (which were a ton of ****in fun. tailgating with friends/family... you get the picture.) Meanwhile that loser fanbase/franchise is once again another year without a cup. Always trying to poke at other people's fun to make themselves feel better. I hope you guys had a ton of fun today! I watched on the NHL Network and it looked like a blast especially the ceremony in the arena.

Lol, Kent is back.

What's the story behind this Kent guy?

He's from where I love in Ontario, because I see him in Toronto area a few times. I've also seen him at Detroit games which are 4 hours away from his hometown, also seen him at Buffalo games, which is 2 hours away from where he lives and finally, see him in LA.

I first met him in Detroit and he shared personal stories about meeting all the Kings players and tells me he's friends with them and he was going to party with Luc after the game....so I just stepped away and thought he was crazy.

3 years later I see him on the ice with Stoll after 2012 Cup win and Greene gives him a huge shout out during rally speech in 2012.

So what's this guys deal? How did he get the hook ups when he lives in Canada. Also where the hell does he get all his money to constantly travel everywhere, I don't even think he works

Hey, those are the Eastern Conference Champion Rangers! :snide: ;)

We had a little over 300K people. That's pretty damn impressive. Downtown LA doesn't lend itself very well to parades and apparently you needed a special ticket to be near Staples unlike in 2012. If we had a giant park we could have gotten a bunch more people. There are a lot of factors that go into it, but stupid people will think stupid and say stupid things. Let those butthurt clowns complain about our parade. Bet they wish they had 300K people at a parade right now!

They can spend their whole summer crying about phantom calls and the big meanie refs and making lists about how amazing the Rags are. Meanwhile we'll be celebrating our 2nd Cup in three years. To be perfectly honest I think any team who made the Playoffs in the West would have beaten the Rags, except for maybe Dallas. The 2012 Devils were the far superior team.

Ditto.

Commence drinking! Watching the replay right now and loving every second of it.

I find it hilarious they have the audacity to actually criticize your parades. That's plural, meaning multiple Devil Cup celebrations.

If I want to see celebrations for the Rangers aside from 20 years ago, I have to dig deep for press camera film from 1940.

Wait a sec, was Rob Blake introduced and booed by the audience? If so, that is really sad that there are still petulant fans who act like immature brats towards him.

Yeah I mean what's in the past is in the past, he's contributing positively to the organization now so why not just move on?
