Panthers troll former teams

Many teams have won two championships without being dicks about it.

- Susanna Hoffs
Yes, I know who she is. 13 year old me had a case of possible tennis elbow because of her :dunno:

the rest is just a difference of opinion.
I see that they take a lot of shit over their play from people with ruffled feathers....and they are giving the shit right back.
I don’t see them being dicks, I see people who are too damn easily offended over stupid meaningless crap.

It isn’t classless to be concerned about the state of Panther fanbase and Florida hockey. Hockey is not growing fast enough there despite all the success South Florida has had.

Also, Bennett grew up in Canada, a place with the very very opposite customs and traditions to Florida, I don’t think he relates with Florida residents at all, he’s just saying things to appease the crowd. I don’t think a Canadian will ever adapt and feel at home in Florida, much less “speak for all of us”.
As a Canadian who lives PT in the USA, you probably shouldn’t speak for all of us.

Bennett’s “speech” could have incited a violent reaction. You can’t say “we can do whatever the **** we want” as a public figure. You just can’t, as people can take it the wrong way and actually think they can break the law and do whatever they want. Very unprofessional and dangerous. Unhinged.

Wow people are really dramatic, this is hilarious.

And no it's not some deep cut, everyone knows this could be done every year for every Stanley cup winning team. It's just a hilarious burn that they came up with, and good on em.

And I don't even like Florida.

I guess this kitty... does have claws.

Edit: it works because that was a show about murders

Edit2: holy shit it works because it took place in Miami, Florida
I've never seen a show work so hard to make an actor, who most of us would break in half in a fight, look so hard...

Anyway, back on topic, I love it. Makes the GMs look like idiots. Here's some accountability, straight to the face!

The Miami Dolphins, by far the most popular sports team in south Florida despite being irrelevant since 1973.

The Marlins also won a few world series in the early 00s, and no one cares about them either.

Of course I know who the Dolphins are
They haven’t won, but they were far from irrelevant when they had Danny Boy throwing the ball.

The Marlins former owner alienated the entire market with his shenanigans (the nicest word I could come up with for what he did). It left a huge scar and much resentment that still lingers. Look into the crap that was pulled, you might understand that it is a big F U to them more than it is not caring.

More sly little attempts to slight the Panthers fan base.

I just never seen you in supporting the Dolphins or the Marlins on this forum. I don’t want to say you only support franchises when they’re good, but it would be nice if the Marlins and the Dolphins gotten more support during their down years. Please support them.

Likely because we are all commenting on a hockey forum.

You know you want to say it, so just go ahead and say it. You seem certain it holds some kind of relevance.
Like not being in those forums is any indication of anything? I don’t give a crap about either one of those teams, whether they are currently good or bad.
Better sit down for this.... I’m never in any Heat forums, either.
You’re something else, man.

If it’s not too much to ask, what inspired you to only support the Panthers and watch hockey, while ignoring every single other sport team in Miami?. Just curious, no ill intent.

Why would someone show support for Football and Baseball teams on a hockey forum?

I moved down here when I was 8 years old, I loved hockey and hated that there was none here, not even on tv. I made my mom’s life hell for a couple of years about “there’s no hockey here, we can’t stay...”. Fast forward to 1993, The Panthers brought hockey back to me and I have loved them and supported them since the day they were founded. Even through the years of suck and incompetent ownership after Mr Huizenga sold the team. My family came from the Buffalo area, I still consider the Sabres my second favorite team, but it was impossible to ever follow them down here, and as I explained above, the Panthers became my team.
I am a Bills fan, changing allegiance to the Dolphins is never going to happen. Even if I live here another 45 years. But, my interest in football has waned over the years.
I haven’t really been into baseball that much since I stopped playing after high school. It bores me on TV. I still enjoy going to games, but getting down into Miami to see one isn’t worth the traffic hassle to me. Not to mention the shit the Marlins pulled on their fans and the tax paying citizens to get the new stadium in Miami also makes it hard to support them.
I’ve never, ever given a shit about basketball.
Hockey rules.....always has, always will.

Good hockey players having fun, not sore winners at all. The only thing sore about this post season is the people complaining about how athletes choose to celebrate a back to back championship win.
I would have loved to hear your perspective had the Oilers won and behaved liked the Panthers are right now. I guarantee you would not be on the same side of the fence as you are right now. Guaranteed.

Just to be clear, I feel the Panthers should celebrate however the hell they please. I wouldn’t want the Oilers to do behave in some of the ways the Panthers have but I have no doubt a couple of players probably would.

Once again, I have such a huge amount of respect for Barkov and his behaviour. That guy is all class.

Yes, Bennett is a great role model for kids who want to grow up elbowing goalies and ending their careers. Tkachuk is a great role model for ones who don’t want to lose gracefully, abandon the social contract and disrespect the opponents when there is no need to. Everyone you mentioned apart from Barkov and Bob don’t seem like good people and take things too far on the ice, willing to hurt and injure if that’s what it takes to win.

Edit: forgot Ekblad, look up to him if want to grow to be a winner like Lance Armstrong
What's with the social contract stuff you keep pushing? It comes off as someone who took an intro to philosophy course and ran with it.

Wont somebody think of the children!

Good grief.

You must have a corner to go suck your thumb in.

Get over your fake virtuous BS. What you say about Bennett is a load of crap...ending careers. You know nothing about the person Tkachuk is away from the ice (that also goes for Bennett). You’ve blazed way past the point of ridiculous, and you show no sign of slowing down.

Wow… I never really saw Panthers fans as just everyday hockey fans until now. Maybe you guys truly just want to watch hockey and support your team and not put down the Oilers. You truly are lucky, the best team in the NHL and the best QB, that doesn’t happen often, enjoy it .

All players with long prosperous careers and are known as decent human beings off the ice. Excellent role models for young hockey players
