Panthers troll former teams

I would have loved to hear your perspective had the Oilers won and behaved liked the Panthers are right now. I guarantee you would not be on the same side of the fence as you are right now. Guaranteed.

Just to be clear, I feel the Panthers should celebrate however the hell they please. I wouldn’t want the Oilers to do behave in some of the ways the Panthers have but I have no doubt a couple of players probably would.

Once again, I have such a huge amount of respect for Barkov and his behaviour. That guy is all class.
The perspective would be the same. The only change is that for Edmonton it would’ve been more about revenge and stopping Florida from going back to back.

This is a byproduct of a physical sport that has an abundance of trash talking. This is hockey, the sport we all love to watch. Two teams known for their dirty antics just played on the biggest stage. The winner gets bragging rights

Wow… I never really saw Panthers fans as just everyday hockey fans until now. Maybe you guys truly just want to watch hockey and support your team and not put down the Oilers. You truly are lucky, the best team in the NHL and the best QB, that doesn’t happen often, enjoy it .
I know you’ll have a hard time admitting, if not understanding, Oilers fans talked more shit than Panthers fans, before last year’s Final and after. It continued this year (as most fan bases will do to each other) Now it gets thrown right back in your faces and you can’t deal with it. That’s an oiler fan problem, not ours.

Haven't seen that lawyer or beverage guy since Tuesday.

I highly doubt your perspective would be the same but, TBH, it’s unlikely we’ll ever find out.

Trash talking on the ice, 100%. Never seen a team (in any sport) behave like the Panthers have after winning a Championship. There was some light trolling last year which was funny but this year it’s a whole new level. Am I totally surprised? Nope… like I said, today’s world is 90% about hate, mocking and trolling people. Wouldn’t doubt if this is the new norm.

I mean… you guys taunted us all summer last year and it just sucks losing to the same team twice in a row. This final was the only time we were on an even playing field with you guys, obviously we tried to forward the same energy we received all summer after the loss. I just don’t see the need for all these theatrics after you’ve beaten us so convincingly.

We taunted you all summer... after and while you guys were also talking shit about the Panthers and their fans. Don’t try to act like it’s a one sided deal. It’s disingenuous, at best.

I'm pretty sure the change in how we get info/media has more to do with this outrage than anything involving the players. When 2001 hockey podcasts are competing for limited viewers, this is the coverage we deserve.

I don't believe Sam Bennett would be the same player if he had stay with Calgary. Sometime, you need a new team, new teammates, new coach and different play styles.

How often does a team beat the same opponent in back to back years in the cup final?

I agree to an extent, being deemed a bottom six wing when drafted as a promising center doesn't amount to a successful career.

What's with the social contract stuff you keep pushing? It comes off as someone who took an intro to philosophy course and ran with it.
That’s the only Philosophy class I took in college, but it was enough. With the social contract, you agree to act a certain way and give up some rights for the benefit of society. Essentially, you are considerate of others people and try to carry yourself a certain way for the betterment of society you live in. Tkachuk is not considerate of other people when he needlessly started a roast of McDavid, so are the fans that defended his actions.

Anyone who followed hockey in the 80s and watched those Oilers Cup teams knows they were known for many many shenanigans off the ice. Hard living, hard partying, not the nicest guys in the game.

The only difference now is everyone carries a camera and wants clout online.

They won, its over, get out of your feelings. And stop the ridiculous pandering over the quality of the fanbase. You are not society's moral compass and we don't owe you a damn thing.

Good lord, give it a rest.

The more you know, it's a pretty discredited and idealist approach in political philosophy.

Bennett’s “speech” could have incited a violent reaction. You can’t say “we can do whatever the **** we want” as a public figure. You just can’t, as people can take it the wrong way and actually think they can break the law and do whatever they want. Very unprofessional and dangerous. Unhinged.

Dude did you just crawl out of a cave? Lol. I think everyone understands the context of what he said....

by that logic neither is McDavid for his locker room blow up last season.
