Why? He’s never been anywhere close to the force here that he was his last two years in SJ, and has been streaky at best as a Devil
He never really was a force in San Jose outside of two really good years

.70 ppg as a shark

As a devil .70 ppg

Gpg are in line with his sharks numbers

It’s astonishing that we can have all these apparent skill players but they are absolute f***in chumps in the one part of the game that is 100% one on one skill.

Equally astonishing is that no one ever talks about how horrible the devils are in the shootout historically. If they were the maple leafs everybody and their mother would know about the sheer ineptitude that has lasted more than a f***ing decade.

Aside from there being an absolute hex on NJ when it comes to the skill competition, I think my biggest takeaway from this game is that Tatar is utterly cooked. He sucked with Colorado last year and he looks like he doesn’t belong in the nhl with us this year. Boy Boqvist would look good in his place right about now, why exactly did Fitz let him go?

Team hung with the panthers despite some challenging circumstances and with a little luck it could have gone their way tonight.
The shootout stuff isn’t a mystery. They were the best team at it until their HoF goalie who excelled at it retired and two of their better shooters left the team. They they were a bad team with either no scoring or bad goaltending for a long stretch. As they have rebuilt it has essentially been taken out of the game (this was their first this year).

Even now for as good as our top players are, they are just average shooters. Florida has really good shooters, against most teams the Cotter goal probably stands up.

I hope they can get a W in Toronto, but with the sickness going around, playing another strong team, and Keefe's former team at that, I'm not really expecting a W unfortunately.

They're slowly finding their game back though, so that's great.

I mean those 2 really good years were the last 2 years before we got him. It's not unreasonable for that to be the expectation. That SHOULD be the expectation. He's being paid 8.8 mil.

In an alternate universe, Tatar would have pulled out his 22-23 form and scored a goal with Nico at the helm of his line, and everyone would be happy.

I really wanted that to happen, but it looks like Tomas is reaching the end of the line....

Good overall game.

Keefe and the organization are miss using Jack Hughes. I get he is fast but they play him and Brat for most of OT and by the SO they are both lackadaisical. They barely play Nico, and send out Mercer and Cotter instead..WTF?!

The Devils need to find a way to boost their middle 6.

The fourth line is a blackhole.

His offense is completely gone. Nico line still did a lot better with him than Mercer tonight lol

Toffoli was not a good fit on our top 6. He couldn’t keep up. You need to skate in this league. Thats why he isn’t on a top 6 on any team that wants to compete and why he is on SJ

You don't need to skate. Toffoli has literally never been able to skate and has been in the top 6 on good teams. We literally have Stefan Noesen in our top 6 playing very well. That guy can't f***ing skate. He's a worse skater than Toffoli. Getting rid of Toffoli was fine because the team sucked last year and also needed to play at an extreme pace. Toffoli would've been an ideal fit on this team though.

He’s on hischier line which usually draws the tough assignments.

Hes not on pp1, he’s not the center point on the offense like he was in San Jose and yet he’s got one less goal than Bratt and 3 less than Jack

How many goals did he have on the Devils? talking about ridicules takes his leaving was more about term and salary then his skating bro
