Yes. It was a great spot to shot, just saw the replay, half inch one way and its in. Knight BARELY touched it
Bratt had the right move to and just missed it as well. It clearly something that was practiced. They used to go in real slow and didn’t tonight. Plus Keefe used Cotter with speed. So there seems to be a common coaching emphasis.

All 3 Panthers shooters are +40% in the shootout which is really good. I don’t know Markstrom’s numbers but it is probably an uphill battle bs that team given who that can send out.

It’s astonishing that we can have all these apparent skill players but they are absolute f***in chumps in the one part of the game that is 100% one on one skill.

Equally astonishing is that no one ever talks about how horrible the devils are in the shootout historically. If they were the maple leafs everybody and their mother would know about the sheer ineptitude that has lasted more than a f***ing decade.

Aside from there being an absolute hex on NJ when it comes to the skill competition, I think my biggest takeaway from this game is that Tatar is utterly cooked. He sucked with Colorado last year and he looks like he doesn’t belong in the nhl with us this year. Boy Boqvist would look good in his place right about now, why exactly did Fitz let him go?

Team hung with the panthers despite some challenging circumstances and with a little luck it could have gone their way tonight.

NHL has him at 27%, but I could have sworn the broadcast popped up his numbers and he was like 20 or 21
Average conversion rate for the longest time was 33%. Not sure if that's still the case, as the number of shootouts are on the decline.

27% sounds right for Bratt.

That 20% or 21% is probably Jack lol.

Who was it in the early shootout years that used to play like 5 minutes a game but he was money in shootouts? Kozlov maybe? Maybe Fitz can coax him out of retirement.

Viktor Kozlov. Yes.
All the Kozlovs (for you ATL guys, also Slava Kozlov was money)
Jacob Josefsson had a move like Bratt. When it worked, it was nice

That's how I'm feeling as well. Overall solid game tonight given the bug going around. Well deserved point. I feel good about what they did tonight overall.

Who cares about the f***ing shootout? This was our first one all season, and it has no relevance to the playoffs. Whatever, let them have it.

I don't like dropping a point, but bitching about losing in the skills competition is complaining just to complain.

That was probably his best attempt, he just missed it. Someone finally told him he can’t go in slow. I suspect he will be better moving forward.
I agree with you on the attempt tonight. He's actually pretty good at burying on regular breakaways.

Barkov's goal was a bit WTF but Markstrom was probably scared of getting put on a poster with how good Barkov is

At the start of the year I thought for sure Palat was the bigger albatross.

I'm not at all convinced of that anymore. And Palat's deal even ends one year sooner.

Dougie is 100% the bigger problem. Palat's still a worse player in a vacuum but Dougie makes 3 mil more and you have 2 guys on ELC's that could fill the spot

Markstrom at least saved one. That is definitely better than Schneider and Blackwood who would absolutely statue it in the SO. Cory Schneider might have been the worst SO goalie I can remember, or at least the worst one in contrast knowing he was fabulous goaltender otherwise.

Shootout loss is whatever to me lol, just hope they can get some finishing back asap. Feels like everyone on the team is fighting it — just need a random goal outburst soon or something
