Clement Jodoin will simply be on the bench instead of being in the pressbox.

That's about it.....I wouldn't do that but that's what it's going to be. Unless Jodoin isn't interested.

I do have another wish....name Sylvain Lefebvre as assistant. And name Houle as coach for the Bulldogs. We should not see an assistant that will become coach. But in 2 years, Houle will be ready to take charge of this team if needed.

Gallant beating Bylsma for a head coaching job....somehow would have never believed that if somebody would have told me.

That would be a pretty fitting return to Montreal. Sign a 1 day contract to retire as a Hab and then start working as an assistant the next day!

you guys need to move on. Its a generational thing ... glorifying Koivu is the consequence of decades of mediocrity. some even thought about getting his jersey retired ... I mean ... really !? I feel for what he has gone through as a person but that's something else.

there is no such thing as a fitting return ... hope he stays in a galaxy far, far away.

I agree. Habs need someone competent before they can get nostalgic about anything. Who says Koivu would be good coach or assistant coach anyway? This is the guy who was a captain by example before someone who would ever make any speeches after all.

My feeling is he would be mediocre at best as a coach. (ex: Gretzky)

Losing Gallant will be huge. Watching 24 CH he seems to be the only 'players coach' behind the bench. He does great work with the youngsters, namely Chuckie, Gally and Eller. He's always communicating with all the players, including some of the veterans as well as giving little intermission 'talks'. He needs to be replaced with another similar coach to contrast the sometimes 'tougher' attitude of Daigneault and Therrien, as well as Jodoin.

Daigneault is a clown... Gallant was a HC in Columbus remember.

Maybe we bring over Boucher? That wouldn't be in Bergevin's deck of cards though, too insidious and he wouldn't do that to Therrien.

I'm not a MT hater but still a bit worried that this might have the same effect on our team as when Muller left to Carolina.

Wonder who would replace him? I don't want to break the site but... cough cough Lefebvre?

No one cares
I kind of always felt that gallant was coaching our team lol, he would be the voice of reason and because of all of his playing days would easily get the respect of the players. I hope a suitable replacement is found, I nominate Matthieu Darche! Great coach material.
