Korchinski has higher upside. He was a victim of age and the jr's/NHL quandary. ...Not crazy about his shot, but he still has that high end skating.....Wright is a young, dime a dozen player right now....don't see it.

That’s going to take a major injury to Matthews and soon for that to be a reality. Don’t see it happening.
Agreed…but theirs always hope…probably closer to the two TB picks 18-19
Hope to get another Oliver Moore or Sasha Boisvert

I'm not going to hope injury on AM, but I wont be mad if it happens, barring serious injury of course.

OR cuz he's been a defensive liability at pretty much every level, shoots the puck as hard as a bantam player and lacks the intensity you need to play defense when youre not huge? He's flawed as a prospect. Can he still make it? Sure, he's talented but he's flawed and it would be best to capitalize on his trade value if as a team you dont believe in his potential anymore
You would have traded Kucherov for being a late bloomer lmao stop

Boisvert, Greene, Moore, Nazar … two move to wing. Two are the #2 and 3 C’s.
The need for the 1st pick is clearly a PF.

My question is.
If the Leaf pick sees Ravensbergen on the board do you pick him?

If they want to take Schaefer, then you probably need to trade Korchinski for some immediate forward help. You need some controllable top 6 guys that can help Bedard as soon as possible. Can’t keep ignoring the obvious
The problem with that is, Korchinski has very little value no matter what the draft experts here think.

I said last year Korchinski playing in the NHL was the worst thing for his development considering he's horrible in his own zone. Now, in the A Korchinski is horrible against teams who have players who will be leaving bags of food at front doors for tips in a couple years. You can't sugar coat it, the kid is a bust.

As for Shaefer, you are looking at the second coming of Scott Neidermayer. He's just on another level compared to everyone else in this draft including Hagens. Which is good considering the Hawks will be fighting for 1OA again this year on account of the GMs incompetence.

My current big board;

1. Schaefer- best player in the draft and it's not close.

2. Misa- first line talent in NHL.

3. Hagens- dropping down

4. Martone- dominating kids with his size won't happen as easily in nhl. Good hands

CRUCIAL draft coming up in the summer. We HAVE TO HIT on whoever we take with the first round pick, almost certainly sure to be a highly touted young forward who we desperately need to be GREAT.

I think as of right now you can't overstate the importance of adding another top-tier 1st line caliber young talent at forward, be it a C or a W. If we are able to get lucky and make the right pick, whether that's #1 or #10, and draft a stud who can be that Robin to go along with Batman(Bedard) then look out. Because i believe we already have many of the other key components:

- A true, #1 elite franchise player in Bedard.
- A young core of defenseman/D prospects that is not only equipped with high-end/top pairing potential(Vlasic/Levshunov/Korchinski) but is also very deep overall.
- A lot of depth and versatility with our prospects at the forward position in terms of players who can fill out the depth/middle 6(plus 4th line as well), and by and large the overall team speed here is a strength that we seem to be building around.
- A ton of cap space lined up at the right time in the coming years, and a major market(to go along with what will hopefully be a loaded group of young, up and coming talent) to help seduce the big name targets. We will be a hot destination if the youth movement works out.

I also strongly believe we will eventually have a new head coach by the time the vast majority of these prospects are ready to be full time NHLers.

We're definitely heading in the right direction and showing steady signs of improvement as a team so far this season....but ultimately we're still going to wind up with a decent draft pick, probably top 10ish depending on how things shake out. So whoever it is....he's GOTTA PAN OUT. We can't afford to miss on this one. We need another elite forward prospect BADLY. Its the one area when you look at our prospects that you see the gap between 98 and everyone else at forward, with just one more elite piece in there we would be set if everything else works out.
