I get what you're saying. Now, imagine that every single day people around you discuss in detail the last game/rumors/coach decision/etc. Not on a board, but in real life. Almost all day long. There's no escaping this team up here in Quebec. You're so right about this team being like a drug

I'm lucky I live in Phoenix then. We have a local team too, who I also support, but their presence in the media barely even exists.

If I want hockey news/talk I have to go looking for it. When I do, it invariably leads me to HF Boards.

Debateable. Problem is, if I got tossed into the NHL, my undoing would be 1 of 2 things:

1) If tossed in as a referee, I'm not a good enough skater to actually keep up with the play and stay in position.

2) If tossed in as a linesman... let me just say LOL @ me trying to break up scuffles between NHL players, which is half of a linesman's real duties, albeit unwritten.
