If police was involved, then something really happened.

I find it funny how some Russian posters are so pro-Putin that at this point they're throwing as much at the wall as possible to drag Panarin's name through the dirt. Literally not one person has corroborated this take. But all hail Putin, right?

Lol, you won't find the more anti-Putin guy on this forum, than me. I can't stand Navalny and those, who teach us, what is good and what is bad, living in America and earning millions dollars, though. Yeah, Ovechkin too.

Why would the Rangers/NHL prefer this be about Putin rather than Nazarov?
It's good PR. Look at the amount of support Artemi and Rangers got from all the hockey fans. Some are even ready to go to war with Russia for Artemi.

My first reaction at Rangers' statement was that Panarin will either become NHL's hero or he'll be kicked out of it if afterwards it will be found out that the story is true. And it felt kinda strange that they immediately gave him such a strong support. It felt good ngl but kinda risky on their part.

https://nypost.com/2021/02/23/key-questions-regarding-rangers-artemi-panarin-situation/

Q: How is the story being received in Russia?
A: “It is the talk of Russia right now,” one source reported. “The responses are basically determined by politics. If people support Putin, they believe it. If they support [opposition leader] Alexei Navalny, they believe it is payback to Panarin.”

Oh so one-dimensional. Not entirely untrue mind you. But it doesn't mention the most important part - until it had bounced backed from the US it was a non-story. Cos nobody here takes Naz's interviews seriously for a long time now.

Q: So have Nazarov’s allegations had the desired effect?
A: Panarin is off the ice for now.

the most important part.

These last few pages here are a tire fire.

There’s plenty of real world reasons a person would take a LOA after being publicly accused of beating the shit out of a girl. Professional athletes are still, in fact, people.

It could be a legal reason, it could be a personal reason. 15 seconds of critical thinking isn’t THAT hard.

Yeah, some of the hot takes in this thread are hot garbage. I don't see how the Rangers overreacted in any way. I would have handled it similarly.

Who's supporting Putin? Most Russians posting the past few pages don't appear to be Putin supporters. I'm not.

Cmon, conversing with others in an attempt to find out what really happened is hardly 'dragging Panarin's name through the mud for almighty Russia and Putin!":eyeroll:

Thanks Cap. I may be Russian but I'm not dumb.
And yeah I have a bit more of common sense to judge on the situ. And I tell you plain and simple you playing cloak and dagger is dumb AF. At least as of now.

BTW that's Bread's in law pictured with Vlad.

You understand thats literally the same thing as you saying “Trump is bad” and me replying “no hes not, you have no idea what you’re talking about and I do because im from America”

Agree, thinks this is a great thread under the circumstances. A lot of interesting views.

BTW, RFC has Boomer reporting that Panarin asked for 2 weeks — anyone else heard that?

It's not everyone but there has been some of it. There's no evidence pointing to what Nazarov said and all of the evidence pointing to the contrary. But "something must have happened". Though one of the biggest proponents of that theory seemed to be French.

Season is off the charts bizarre. Coming off two prospects having mental issues . . .

- Top center appears to have had Covid
- our outspoken defenseman has a fight with a teammate
- Top winger has issues with a Russian empire

Can't wait to see what's next!!!!

Panarin takes his time off anywhere from Mexico to Siberia (the Altai) to the Russian north in a friggin hut in the middle of nowhere.
He's hanging out with dudes from a boxing gym in St. Petersburg.
He travels by train across Russia dining on some pot noodles and sausage.
He rides a tractor in the country somwhere near his native town
He's coming from a rough industrial area. A distant suburb of a rough industrial area.
He played for a team in the KHL which basically replicated an old-skool lower league pub brawling bunch (coached by none other than Naz incidentally).
He's used to being far from his family for a loooong time as a young player.
He knows that he's the target and he knows for sure who targets him.
He's married to the daughter of a current KHL head coach who himself is a pretty rough guy with a reputation, had coached the national team and received medals from Putin.
And yet he's so shaken by a crack journo's pitch that he's req'd a LOA.
Yeah, right.

You however don't know sh1t about Russia and what happens here.

Ok

Who honestly cares if 19 year old Panarin got in some sort of altercation with an 18 year old in Russia at this point almost a decade ago?

On the word of an ex coach known to lie embellish and be quite crazy?

He lived there for several years after this alleged incident so clearly law enforcement in Russia didn't give a F at the time.

FWIW both Jon Mirasty and Kip Brennan who played with Panarin on the team in question don't remember the event in question or believe Nazarov's story and Mirasty actually says he liked Nazarov when he was his coach. Mirasty went on to say he wasn't sure Panarin was capable of beating up a girl but that he was a hell of a hockey player. Those Vityaz North Americans were all pretty much goons by the way--Chris Simon, Nick Tarnasky, Darcy Verot etc. etc. but also veterans who had been around a long time and seen a lot.

Translation: If you accept Misha (no idea who that is) as a source that deserves attention. Same as Nazarov.
Haha, "Misha" here is one Mikhail Anisin a 5'6" forward, once Bread's teammate. A Gagarin's Cup holder BTW, under non other than Oleg Znarok, Alice's dad))
Not impartial to some (lots of actually) juice which effectively ruined his career. Also an amateur singer... pretty good they say)))
At 32 he's a long forgotten man, languishing in various god-forsaken (at least hockey-wise) places.

Panarin's teammate has now corroborated parts of what Nazarov has claimed. And the police reportedly called as well.
Is Anisin lying? Maybe, maybe not. But we now can at least connect the dots to Alexei Zhamnov who reportedly disciplined Panarin for at least some level of physical contact.

That said, is Nazarov exaggerating in an attempt to smear Panarin? Without question. Badly. Anisin alludes to this as well.

But if believing that something probably did happen makes me a evil Putin-bot, well, I dunno what to tell you.

What's your goal here, dude? Just to antagonize everyone? At this point you're not really contributing much beyond your own speculation, sprinkled with insults.
Seems like it. Not going to waste my time reading his nonsense anymore.

Did he now

Thanks but I'll do what I deem right to (subject to terms and conditions lol).

Tut tut. Behave.

You're the one spreading some absurd, ridiculous idea that we in the US should remotely care about some salacious reporting in the Russian version of the NY Post.

Again, literally no one in the US cares about that kompromat.
