Confirmed with Link: Panarin taking leave of absence from NYR (Warning in First Post)

it wasn't just to shit on SJW (but happy to do so), you're kidding yourself if you think Sam and Joe won't consider SM backlash if they come out too hard in favor of Panarin, even if the team already supports Panarin 100%

when it comes to job security and putting food on the table you can't be too careful with public comments on a still evolving situation

Slava Malamud is not exactly the most neutral guy when it comes to reporting things coming out of Russia.

That said, plenty of KHL reporters have already made it clear that this story is BS.

First, it takes a lot more than that to offend me. Let me be more clear. You're an idiot.

Second, they are more likely to read the statement verbatim, rather than walk back the stance that the organization already established. The funny thing is that by doing so, it actually furthers their job security, whether they believe the official statement or not.

Someone here posted the goal differential between the first and last teams in each division. I think the Degrassi presents Tim Horton’s division was a 57 ( or so) goal differential the rest were fairly close to that number. I think the division above the northeast was something 35+ and The Rangers division ..... 19 goals.

Really? Disagreed there. No doubt the East division is the toughest, but I wouldn't go as far to clame 4 of the 8 best teams are in this division.

From the West, Colorado and Vegas are no doubt in the top-8. St. Louis? Maybe.

Central has Tampa no question, I would argue Carolina as well.

North? Before the season no one. Toronto is getting there though, they have been pretty great.

And from the East? Boston absolutely, Washington?

I do agree, team are not the same every new season. But if you look at the last two seasons. 4 of the Top8 teams are in our division.

Malamud has a pretty clear attitude when he writes about stuff coming from Russia. I'm not a Russian, nor do I have any reason to be protective about Russia much less their governmet and dictator, but it's fairly obvious when you read some of the stuff he's writing.

Doesn't mean he's lying.
