Confirmed with Link: Panarin taking leave of absence from NYR (Warning in First Post)

I don't think Navalnyi is more popular that Putin (not even close lol), but let's be real here. It's kinda hard to get huge crowds to protest when you risk facing jail time and other unpleasantries for simply showing up there. It's not an even playing field, let's just say that.

For what its worth i believe it to be a misinformation campaign and dont for 1 second believe it to be true.

But if it does happen for it to be true using the "it happened 10 yrs ago and he was young" defense is nonsense.

Look at the kid that AZ drafted. he was 14 even younger and stupider and he was dropped from the AZ pipeline and his scholership revoked. If it is true breadman is done in the NHL

A simple assault is a bit different than being a constant bully/racist and destroying a fellow students mental health.

I don't know. I really don't see how assault + bribery is less egregious. (Again, I don't believe these allegations, but if true, this is a very serious charge).

Let's not forget, the allegation is not just violence, but also a coverup. Both aspects are serious on their own. And together, it's even worse.

I agree that I don't think Panarin comes back from this if the NHL finds out it happened in an independent investigation.

Oh I agree on that. But it's also stupid to compare this to say case Voynov.

In the end, we don't even know the "facts" of this possible fake story.
 
Of course this has nothing to do with reality. This is a consequence of somenoe that spoke up against a tyrant and one of his cultists hit back.

i do not for 1 second believe this story to be true. But if it is hes done. assault on a women and a coverup including bribery at 20 is worse then bullying at 14-16. Not to diminish what that young man went through by any means. I was bullied growing up and it was terrible. But a professional athlete beating on a women is worse

Yo don't discount what that awful person (and pathetic Arizona organization) did: that racist bullying of a mentally disabled student continued for YEARS and he never even once apologized to the victim. This kid was on most teams 'DND (do not draft)' for a reason. Absolutely disgusting behavior from an obvious sociopath.

I am not by any means discounting what he went through i was bullied all through school and got in multiple fights in high school threatened lawsuits and almost transferred out. But people using are using young and stupid defense here and i brought it up as a comparison.

One time is one too many, but systemic bullying and one terrible situation 10 years ago are different deals.

Just glanced through comments on the related articles on Russian Sports dot ru site. For the most part overwhelming support for Panarin and disgust with Nazarov. Even those who accuse Panarin for his anti-Putin political views acknowledge that Nazarov fabricated the whole “story” (“because his heart was hurting for the Motherland”, lol)

yeah. Probably they just follow the Rangers organization lead with the statement from yesterday. Unless we learn more today or tomorrow and if there is more to the story. Then who the heck knows.

boomer was saying on the radio this morning that it looks like it will be a 2 week absence
hopefully that's true
next 2 weeks contains a lot of Ranger games 6 to 7 games on the schedule
 
Nazarov couldn't fully invented the story, because Panarin would sue him for defamation, and even Putin isn't be able to help Dirty Naz.

It's quite possible the story isn't 100% true, but even 30% is enough to put Panarin's career in America under big question mark.

One thing is 100%, that Nazarov can forget about any hockey job in Russia. The story is way too dirty by Russian standarts, so people won't forget it and won't forgive him. Russians hate snitches.
