I don’t think Panarin’s NMC is as big of an issue as most of you do. When he signed a 7 year deal, controlling where he would be was important to him. Right now, he only has one season remaining after this, and then he gets to pick his destination again. The Rangers are in disarray internally (look at the other thread and all the tweets after the last few games that are coming out) and it seems obvious the band is going to get broken up. Shesterkin’s next contract isn’t a guarantee. Panarin may not have any problem being sent to a contender for 1.5 seasons and then cashing in again. He’s still a 90-100 point player. At 5.8M he could generate a bidding war. Maybe. I’m just thinking outside the box because my team is at a crossroads.
I tend to think the Rangers' brass knows they are stuck and that not much is going to shake loose at the top of their roster, where the money and the NMCs live. Publicly signaling they are open for business does say that they would make a trade, sure, but even in the absence of actual moves it sends a shot across the bow to the team, especially those who might be complacent.
More messaging than a sign of a trade, I think. In time, they'll have to make some actual moves. Right now, they want the existing roster to play better because they know most of these guys are locked in for a while.

No Movement Clause. You'd get like a 2nd rounder to wherever he'd be willing to waive to.

Gavrikov would be a good fit for NYR if King's can't come to a new agreement with him. With how things are trending, NYR may just want to wait for the off-season.

He's definitely more what they need, but I don't see the Kings letting him out of the building. Would be a perfect partner for Fox. I'd hope he is their target for the offseason.
Don't think it'd make sense for the Kings to move Gavrikov in a win now move, he's part of the win-now for the Kings.

If he waived and the rangers retained, with him having another year left I could see a team giving up an insane package.
Would need to be a team that is confident they’re built to win now and able to legit compete for a cup the next couple of years. Florida is a great example but they don’t have the assets or the space. The Jets make sense to me as well. They do have the assets.

Gavrikov has been playing on the right filling in for Doughty all season. Doughty is due back in the next month or so. When that happens the pairs are going to be jumbled up. Moving Gavrikov could be possible then.
King's also let Roy walk UFA last year & won one playoff game. First priority is re-signing Gavrikov. Until that contract is signed though.

To NYR: Jeff Skinner, Matt Savoie, Beau Akey, 2025 2nd (STL), 2026 1st (EDM)
To CHI: 2025 3rd (STL)
To EDM: Panarin 75% retained
Not sure if Skinner would waive for NYR, maybe requires a separate trade that sends Skinnner to TOR.

Dont pay attention to nyr but it looks like he is having a good year.
Got to wonder what’s going on in nyr. Did coach lose the room or are guys pissed how they handled Trouba. They are really sliding.
But wing isn’t the jets weakness if we are giving up an insane package it’s for a top rd.
