Don’t worry. Once officially eliminated we’ll start winning games.
I really don’t want to make trades right now. I don’t trust Adams and would rather trade the obvious players at the trade deadline. Then get a new GM and have him do the trades in the offseason. I think right now we would be trading from a position of disadvantage and end up overpaying or underselling.

so wheres the trade mr. pagotta. hes even worse than eklund.

Posts like that one are zero-risk for the reporter. He didn’t actually say anything, it was just a conversation starter. If something happens, he looks like an insider. If nothing happens, it’s your own fault for reading into it. Either way, he gets to be the center of attention for a couple of days and gets a bunch of engagement which raises his profile.

If you don’t like this dynamic, get off Twitter. The entire platform is based around attention-seeking behavior.

How good is Jokiharyu? I've been a bit fascinated with him lately as a potential RD target for next to Nurse. He's got to be better than Stecher. Are reports he skates really well accurate?

I don't like him, but maybe a change of scenery will help, it also depends on what style Nurse plays. Jokiharju is not physical, average skating, likes to move the puck and join the attack, not great in defense, but sometimes he played well, just not sure if he is a top 4 D. I think chemistry with a player is also important, he did not have chemistry with Dahlin and Power, but it is not surprising given his style of play, sometimes he plays unnoticed good games, sometimes there are brain farts.

For buffalo to trade Tuch a known star nerds to be coming back otherwise trading a hometown kid fans lobe will be a PR nightmare

Tuch is going to walk at the end of his deal. He wants to win and that isn’t happening in Buffalo and his new bride is from the north west. Take it to the bank, he will be a Kraken or a Canuck.

I doubt it honestly; I think his preference would be to stick around since his family is from Syracuse and he's always wanted to play for Buffalo. If he does leave its going to be because his wife wants to be closer to her family although Tuch could easily move them over here if that's the sole issue.

Tuch is the only player in the world that wants to be a Buffalo sabre right now. He won’t be traded.

I'm thinking the Oilers' realistic targets are buy-low players. For instance, it would have been good to get Fabbro.

Imo a complement to Nurse doesn't need to be physical. They need to skate well, pass well, shoot right, and play smart. I looked up Joki and it said he was a great skater. Is it possible he's holding back to avoid being out of position?

I know he's a bit of an odd target, but by ice time he's being crowded out by high profile dmen like Byram, Power and Dahlin. I'm thinking the Oilers are not looking for someone as good as our top 3 dmen. It's not just acquisition cost, but also long term cap management. Imo it's smart to gamble there. Stecher is doing kind good there and he was a marginal NHLer. Joki has got to be a step up of that, and with potential to excel.

Yeah, I think he could be like Fabbro but I think Fabbro is better he is a great complementary player to guys like Josi and Werenski, and Joki hasn't shown that to Dahlin and Power I've been wanting to add Fabbro for years now he went to Columbus for free unfortunately our GM is an idiot.

Yes but Fabbro was also dismissed by many. It's also not like he's absolutely killed it in Columbus, but yes clearly worth his contract, and could develop more consistency. I'd think Jokiharyu not gelling with those great players is concerning, but an issue I see there is that they are all too young. Maybe he progresses better playing with Nurse, Ekholm and Kulak.

Also, hasn't Jokiharyu generally had a great reputation but has only recently fallen off?
