That being said, if the Jets had an extension in place or had it discussed with Pionk, and traded from a position of depth for Andersson (say a 1st and Barlow as an example), and then moved Andersson in the summer to recoup most of the cost to acquire, that could be an interesting move.

Andersson is probably my favorite player but it just makes sense to trade him.

We're not able to take advantage of his great contract. We already gave a retirement contract to Weegar and RD is probably our best position from a prospect point of view.

If you can turn him into center value you just have to do it.

Habs 1st top 5 protected + Matheson + Roy/Kapanen make sense.

First in the 10-20 range + top 4 Lhd (can play on the right) + a good prospect that should be in the NHL next year.

Matheson himself could be flipped for another 1st+, and the peace of mind that controlling their own first would give Calgary is not something another team can match.
