Rumor: Pagnotta: "Rasmus Andersson is open to a trade, he would welcome it" It would cost 3 assets...1st rnd pick, prospect, +

Buffalo should be all over it. Byram + 1st + a prospec (perhaps less, Byram is a better centerpiece - and certainly not a 1sr without some protection, but as a framework. Could be a 2nd and a prospect. A protected 1st. 1st conditional on an extension… idk, or care. Conceptually there’s a good fit Buffalo should be looking into).

Byram is from Calgary. Andersson pairs with Dahlin and makes the Rasmus squared pair while balancing out Buffalo’s pairs a bit. Find a physical defense first #4 type to pair with Power, keep Samuelsson and Clifton on the third pair and you’re in business.
Byram> Andersen

Since Calgary probably doesn't want to re-build given the age of their core i wonder if

Habs 1st top 5 protected + Matheson + Roy/Kapanen make sense.

First in the 10-20 range + top 4 Lhd (can play on the right) + a good prospect that should be in the NHL next year.

Sens offer, a 1st JBD and Stephen Halliday.

I'm just blunted so probably off with my prospect, but I'd like see sens make an offer regardless

CGY should do that in a heartbeat. No one is going to top that imo.

At some point you gotta put the chips in. It's always a horrible use of assets. That's how the league is designed.

Your first is already gone, they just haven't decided on what yet. Prospects don't develop all the time, just take the hit. You're in first place in the division and have obvious holes on the team. Can't be worried about a prospect and cap space next year.
No offense, but that's the carbon copy line from every poster who's in the "selling" position to try and justify a bad move for the acquiring team.

Have said he'd be perfect for CBJ. No clue what to offer, but they have two 2025 1st round picks and a deep prospect pool, plus good young NHL players. I won't offend either fan base by trying. Just interesting to see if he gets moved. I would think it would be better in the off season. Calgary still in the hunt and still a year left on his deal. Not to mention the Cap goes up next season so waiting until the off season likely attracts more teams to the bidding.

The literal worst time to try and sell a player is when they have 1 year left on their deal in the offseason.

Ya sure and like 3-5 teams do it every year. If you're more worried about two years from now than this playoffs it's not wise. Your owner and GM are who matter.

Svozil / Del Belluz

A 1st and a really solid C prospect are the two must haves in my mind for a Andersson deal. Throw in whatever on either side after that to make it work.

There should be several motivated buyers. I really think WPG should be all over this.

...ummm...Montreal is not the right landing spot for him, since the trade wouldn't make any sense for the Habs...

Assuming he's willing to extend, it makes total sense. Gives us a future top 4 of

Hutson - Andersson
Guhle - Reinbacher

Whats the most youre willing to pay him?

Would you give him 7 x 8.5m?

Considering his current contract is severely underpaid and this will be his last big pay day.

Canucks should be all over this...

-1st round pick, 3rd round pick, Hoglander, Raty, Desharnais

I believe Flames are stacked at D prospects but they need C. Raty's ceiling imo is very simlar to Backlund's game. Desharnais is to make the cap work.

There's no chance Calgary trades us Andersson without Lekkerimaki or Willander going the other way.

Ratu is a decent, but far from exciting prospect while Hoglander has literally zero value.

I’m pretty sure he’s from Cranbrook, BC not Calgary but I may be wrong.
